Anyone work for Mercedes? Question on ordering a 2021

I'm in the industry (although do not work for MB) and can not get a clear answer on this.

Does anyone know if C63 sedans will be orderable again for 2021 year model?

SO it appears they could have been ordered a few months ago. I have a Sales manager buddy at one store and a salesman buddy at the other store here in town. They both have 2021 C63's incoming and they are W205. That leads me to believe the year model of 2021 will be a W205 with the 2022 year model being the new W206.

All that said, the ordering banks are closed, for now, for 2021 C63. That also seems very early to close out that year model and I HIGHLY doubt MB would bring in a W206 for late year model 2021.

Just wanting to know if anyone here knows more than this. Yes there are some assumptions here but it seems like they would/should reopen year model ordering for the C63.

So does anyone know if there will be the ability to order a C63 again for year model 2021?

You can order a 2021 coupe but no more sedan.

MB can be quirky and do things that don't always make sense. In 2018, they offered a 2019 GLE400 SUV for basically six months before transitioning to the re-designed 2020 GLE 350. Obviously not the same vehicle as you are talking about, just the same MB no logical logic

I have been trying to order a 2021 C63s sedan since August. I decided to do this through a broker for a 10% discount which was the worst decision i've ever made. Going through 4 dealerships, lack of communication, INCOMPETENT sales people and the people working at MB dealerships. This experience has been the biggest and greatest disaster i've ever been through, leaving me completely empty handed. Going back and forth on emails, sales guys saying he's submitting the build and never did... I could go on and on.. Finally finding a new sales guy in the end of November, he goes to submit my build and he gets a message saying "The 2021 C63s sedan production has ended" left me completely baffled. He did not even know of this himself. Upon further investigation, production only ran from October through the first week of November for sedans. Now they are transitioning to Coupes. I am now completely out of a car that I've been trying to get submitted for months. I've contacted Mercedes corporate in Sandy Springs and they didn't even know what to tell me. The lack of communication between Mercedes corporate and their dealerships is absolutely ridiculous, even if they are privately owned.. they should still know what the hell is going on. As far as I'm concerned, nobody knew that this production run only lasted 1 month and until they actually submitted someones build, they had no idea. During a time where money is needed to be made the most, they cut short on production without giving a heads up. Their website updated in the beginning of December with the 2021 model. It wasn't until mid December that they actually posted the pricing on the C63s. Why would you update your website to show a product that you can't even order? The site even says its available to order! I've tried to track down builds with my sales guy and about 98% of 2021 models out there were made to order and not dealer ordered. If somebody has a solution for me, i'd love to hear it. I have $90,000 for any dealer than can build me a sedan LOL!

The issue is due to Covid and the resulting factory shutdowns and supply chain disruptions a lot of 2020 orders were not fulfilled and they were converted to 2021 orders. They are building 2021 sedans, but most of them are carryover orders from 2020. This has been mentioned on this forum before. I've advised a couple of people to get their orders in ASAP, because I was anticipating that most allocations are already gone due to remaining 2020 orders. Further complicating the issue with the sedan is that the sedan production was moved from Alabama to South Africa. Order banks are closing for 2021 models. It was just announced that the GT R is being discontinued and no more orders will be accepted after 12/29. Moving forward only the GT, GT C and GT BS can be ordered. There's a lot at play, not the least that the German car manufacturers are facing huge fines, because of missing CO2 targets and they are delaying or eliminating models with big polluting engines.

I would expect so. I believe there's at least one person around here whose 2020 coupe order got turned into a 2021. If I remember correctly by the time his coupe arrives it will be about a year from when he placed the order. Coupes are more niche, so not as many orders, but consequently less capacity at the plant. Not sure how long the order banks stay open for the coupe. Haven't heard anything yet.
