Sold my 2017 AMG c63s and bought a 2012 AMG c63….

Since buying the car I’ve had it detailed and wrapped in expel, replaced the chrome front grill with black, replaced interior bulbs with LEDs, and purchased a 7 yrs. (this baby is not going anywhere) platinum extended warranty from Fidelity.
For those who want a quick comparison:
•Steering feel is more precise and connected on the BS.
•The Carbon Ceramic brakes on the c63s had better bites then the steel ones on the BS. I miss those CC brakes.
•The ride on the c63s was actually rougher than the BS. I did not expect this. The BS suspension is firm but not harsh, and it felt appropriate and not overdone like the c63s. For me, the suspension and steering is the what makes this car special. The engine and wild looks doesn’t hurt either.
•The c63s is faster.
•The interiors design is miles ahead in the c63s. The BS has a ton of cheap rubber and plastic everywhere. I was pleasantly surprised though to see that it came with automatic high beam, blue tooth, nav, and a back up camera. At least it didn’t look like it came from the 90s like the interior of the Clk63 black series.
•The BS feels lighter and more well put together (no rattles!!).
•I’d thought that BS would be similar to my F-type with lots of power and torque everywhere, but in actuality it feels more similar to the engine in my e9x m3s, just with a lot more horse power and torque. The power builds with revs and does not run out at the top (something that was very evident with the w205).
If I only have one car the w205 c63 would be a no brainer. But for a weekend vehicle/show off piece, the BS is terrific. It’s rare, fast and loud enough to make one feel like you have a supercar. It also shares enough parts with the “normal” w204 c63 that maintenance and repairs are not difficult or expensive. I replaced an AC fan blower with parts I bought online and instruction from a YT video.
And for those who live in states that collect property taxes, the c63 back series was sold as an option for the c63 (unlike other black series model where they were considered a separate model), their values, according to NADA (which the states use to determine how much you pay) is not the same as what they may be worth.
Here’s a photo of my w205 c63s and the w204 BS.
