Tune with a Warranty?

Tune with a Warranty?
Called my local MB dealer and they said that they do a Renntech tune but that any modifications CAI, Tune, etc will void the warranty. Are there any warranties out there that will cover the beast with a tune?

Haha yeah, I wouldn't dare give a hint to my dealer that I'm going to do a tune. RennTech tune is plug and play, do it yourself. Takes 5 minutes max. If something goes haywire in the long run, expect them to investigate and potentially void warranty, unless you have a hookup at the dealer.

Check Carbahn tune. They match factory warranty if you pay additional $1000 and even with it, it is still cheaper than Renntech tune.

Let me see if I understand this: they'll install an aftermarket tune and 'warranty it', but they'll void the warranty if you install a CAI? This is BS, clear and simple. There is NO WAY in Hades that any CAI will voind any car manufacturer's warranty. Do not believe this dealership. They're either lying to you or are not sufficiently educated enough.

I already knew which tune and asked for it, Renntech's website had listed them as a retailer of theirs...so go figure. No effs given on asking a renntech retailer about their tune...

Renntech is among many other tuners that I personally would trust to tune the W205 platform. Pretty much all of these stage 1 tunes are relatively safe and you can tune it and sleep at night knowing nothing bad is going to happen. In the unlikely event that something does happen, flash the car back to its stock file and see if that solves the problem. If not, you can just bring it in to the dealer with the stock file and I don't see why they would give you any trouble. If they can find out that there was a tune on the car, I don't think so but I could be wrong. And if they can, I think they'd have to dig deeper to figure that out.
For regular service, I would bring the car in with the tuned file and would tell the service advisor that there's a tune in the car just so they wouldn't do any ECU updates that would wipe the tune. I did that just because I knew them and that they wouldn't screw around with my warranty. If you don't feel comfortable like that with your dealer, bring it in stock even if it's for a service just for good measure. But I'd never bring the car in with a tune for a problem that could be related to the fact that you modified the car.

Well when you call a random dealer and don't give them any of your info LOL you're SO ****ed OMG I'm SCREWED!!! Bahahahah they had no idea who they were talking to on the phone lol... funny! I never take the beast to the dealer for service, I either do it myself or go to an alternate.
