Should have invested in a RADAR detector and LIDAR blocker for this car.
Any of you guys using radar/lidar defense?

Having said that, I don't really go crazy on highways, definitely not over 100 mph as that is reckless territory here. Anything more than 25 mph over is problematic, so I rarely go over 90. Below that, if I don't get away by contesting it, I can always do traffic school and keep it off the record. The LIDAR incident above was actually 28 over, and was the only speeding ticket that ever made it on my record.
Knowing where and when you can let the dogs out is half the solution. I generally reserve exploring the limits to the deserted canyons with no cops anywhere. Anything off the main drags and thoroughfares really. Also, having done European Delivery gave me the opportunity to see what the car is capable off, so I got that out of my system. Straight line speed doesn't really do it for me anymore.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
no Laser here but I’ve thought about it. Problem is, haven’t seen it used...it’s rare in PNW and NorCal but not frequent enough for me to fork over the big bucks for it.

"With my years of experience having owned many state of art radar detectors, a motivated cop who wants to bust speeders and sees you, will bust you, no matter what detector you have, whether or not you were speeding, irrespective if he caught you on radar or not."
I've had several instances where my perfectly functioning V-1 never went off = radar wasn't on, or never hit me, and the cop claims to have clocked me at a certain speed. Or cops "visually estimating" my speed in the pitch black of night, without any frame of reference, while traveling in the same direction they're parked (ie they're visually estimating through a rearview mirror), without the rear facing radar on.
And traffic court is a joke; it's guilty until proven innocent, as unlike criminal court where the evidentiary standard is beyond a reasonable doubt, civil court only requires a preponderance of the evidence.
What preponderance of the evidence means is that the burden of proof is met if there is greater than a 50% chance that, based on all the reasonable evidence shown, the plaintiff’s claims are true. That 50% is established just by virtue of the cop being considered honest and an expert at his job by the court. So unless you have irrefutable proof (dash cam, etc), it's just a matter of the good old boys' club, and the court collecting its fines.
Don't get me started...

Having said that, check your state's administrative code. Some states (IIRC Virginia was one of them) require that they can use instant-on to obtain a preliminary estimate, but then had to turn on the unit (constant) and obtain an accurate reading. So instant-on in it of itself wouldn't be admissible.
I personally run the radar detector and Waze simultaneously. It has worked for me.
mid you get the Escort, visit the page of the Vortex guy for the settings. Default is fine, but he explains better how to use it.
Current Radenso radar detectors are really good, but after you have one with directional arrows (Valentine, Uniden, Escort) there is no going back.
