🚑 [Pic] Warning to Coupe owners with Optional RXC Forged Wheels & 38 PSI tyres
I really like the RXC wheels which is why I got another set when both my front ones were damaged.
One cracked at the spoke, got welded but cracked again. And the other side got buckled so ended up buying another set.
You'll be happy with yours man, they are great wheels 👍
I ask because this car will be my daily driver, and I will track it about 10% of the time. I'm fine to monitor tire pressures and keep the fronts at 44psi, rears at 39psi. I just don't want to be religious about that, be willing to accept harsher ride with higher pressures, monitor for tramlining, AND after all that, then there are still other wheel integrity issues to worry about. Makes me question if the cross-spokes are a better choice even though I prefer the look of the forged twin 5-spoke.

First time I damaged the left wheel from a road indentation. Not a pothole, just a badly patched up section in the road, but I was running 36 PSI fronts (thanks to the sh*t advice on here on an old topic by a member who no longer even comes online 🙄 )
To be specific, the crack happened from a road in Sydney called "Canterbury" Road.
Which basically is just some patched up section which would hardly cause issues for anyone else.
In the photo, it doesn't look like much, but the patchwork is bad and you get a loud thud in our cars as you go over it.
Right side bent 2 weeks later from some uneven surfaces during a roadworks going 45km/h.
I knew exactly when and where the cracks happened because I became vigilant after I noticed other guys in an Australian Facebook group for AMG's getting cracks in their optional RXC wheels, so I began to check mine every time with a torch after a drive. Very paranoid I was 🥴
I will assure you now, if you run these special wheels at higher pressures, they won't cave in.
On the track, you can run them at lower pressures as tracks are nice and smooth and you won't have any issues unless you run off into the scenery 🙂

What tires did you get mate?

on a side note i love the look of these tires in regards to how they fill the fender gaps and sit quite flush now

Also, a comment more than a question... the Mercedes First Class Tire and Wheel protection plan specifies coverage so long as the wheels and tires are the designated stock fitment.
I appreciate any thoughts, comments on any of the above.

running 275/35/19 on the fronts and 305/30/20 on the rears, no spacers necessary/recommended, there is no rubbing, no scrubbing at full lock, and this is with cold tire pressures of 44 psi up front and 39+ psi on the rears, correct?

My prefacelift doesn't show that on my door sticker.
Seems like the issue is known.......... and again MB quietly updating their recommendations to reflect this.
So.......... please don't forget if you're running the optional RXC forged lightweight wheels (Edition 1 Coupe included) keep your tyre pressures at 44PSI front & 39 PSI rear to stop buckled and cracks.

Just get the car first drive it and fill up the tyres with 44psi FRONT 39psi REAR...........
When you decide to increase tyre size just go with 265/35/19 front and 295/30/20 rears.
Get the car first and worry about this shiit later 😒😒😒
Come on man..........
As a reminder Edition 1 Coupes use the same lightweight "forged" RXC 767 wheels by APPTECH and are prone to damaging
Remember guys if u have these wheels it's 44PSI front & 39PSI rears.

I'm on my 3rd or 4th full set now and never had the buckling or cracked spoke issue since reluctantly increasing tire pressures 12 months ago to 44psi fronts and 39psi rear as recommended by AMG for the RXC wheels.
The pressures are high and blah blah but at $10,000 for a set, i'll settle for the reduced comfort.
