Thanks for the information... I love the looks of those RXC wheels and honestly I thought they were made by AMG?

I really like the RXC wheels which is why I got another set when both my front ones were damaged.
One cracked at the spoke, got welded but cracked again. And the other side got buckled so ended up buying another set.

You'll be happy with yours man, they are great wheels 👍
How did your wheels get damaged the first time around? You mentioned that one got a cracked spoke and the other one a side buckled. Were these damages due to under-inflated tires, potholes, or just good old-fashioned daily driving on average surface streets?

I ask because this car will be my daily driver, and I will track it about 10% of the time. I'm fine to monitor tire pressures and keep the fronts at 44psi, rears at 39psi. I just don't want to be religious about that, be willing to accept harsher ride with higher pressures, monitor for tramlining, AND after all that, then there are still other wheel integrity issues to worry about. Makes me question if the cross-spokes are a better choice even though I prefer the look of the forged twin 5-spoke.

Hey bro, thanks for the question.

First time I damaged the left wheel from a road indentation. Not a pothole, just a badly patched up section in the road, but I was running 36 PSI fronts (thanks to the sh*t advice on here on an old topic by a member who no longer even comes online 🙄 )

To be specific, the crack happened from a road in Sydney called "Canterbury" Road.
Which basically is just some patched up section which would hardly cause issues for anyone else.

In the photo, it doesn't look like much, but the patchwork is bad and you get a loud thud in our cars as you go over it.

Right side bent 2 weeks later from some uneven surfaces during a roadworks going 45km/h.

I knew exactly when and where the cracks happened because I became vigilant after I noticed other guys in an Australian Facebook group for AMG's getting cracks in their optional RXC wheels, so I began to check mine every time with a torch after a drive. Very paranoid I was 🥴

I will assure you now, if you run these special wheels at higher pressures, they won't cave in.

On the track, you can run them at lower pressures as tracks are nice and smooth and you won't have any issues unless you run off into the scenery 🙂

Good info on here. The wheels themselves are badass. They look awesome, one of my favorite AMG wheels available.

got the 275/305 combo installed today and the tire shop went by the psi shown at the door which is around 42-44 psi all around. id prob still prefer them a little lower but tbh the ride wasnt that bad this time around. im guessing its coz the tires are now more meaty so they get to absorb it more

Nice man wonder if the old super sports plus the extra 10mm on the back will do well for traction in your car?

extra 20mm since i went from 255/285 to 275/305. As far as traction goes, it is definitely more planted now but that still doesnt mean that I can just floor it in 1st gear and just jet off so i guess its as good as its gonna get unless i get R compound tires which i wont since this is my daily driver.

on a side note i love the look of these tires in regards to how they fill the fender gaps and sit quite flush now

So if i go 275s in the front and 305s in the rear, I still should plan for the higher pressures, in order to protect the wheels (as discussed earlier in this thread)? Or does larger rubber mean that pressures don't need to be as high as if they were set with stock tire sizes? Also, would larger tires at the higher pressures cause rubbing?
Also, a comment more than a question... the Mercedes First Class Tire and Wheel protection plan specifies coverage so long as the wheels and tires are the designated stock fitment.
I appreciate any thoughts, comments on any of the above.

I also run the same widths (275/305) on my coupe and can confirm no rubbing at stock ride height.

So, to confirm what multiple of you have already said about your C63S coupes, and not to be redundant but I am OCD when it comes to my cars...
running 275/35/19 on the fronts and 305/30/20 on the rears, no spacers necessary/recommended, there is no rubbing, no scrubbing at full lock, and this is with cold tire pressures of 44 psi up front and 39+ psi on the rears, correct?

Noticed the Facelifts with the optional forged lightweight wheels seen to have updated tyre pressure stickers on the doors recommending the 44psi/39psi for normal load in Australian cars.

My prefacelift doesn't show that on my door sticker.

Seems like the issue is known.......... and again MB quietly updating their recommendations to reflect this.

So.......... please don't forget if you're running the optional RXC forged lightweight wheels (Edition 1 Coupe included) keep your tyre pressures at 44PSI front & 39 PSI rear to stop buckled and cracks.

Does someone have the information that they can comment on my prior text in regards to confirming/responding to my prior question regarding larger tire sizes, and how they may or may not affect the need for the recommended higher pressures for these wheels and whether there would be rubbing? I mean... what's the sense in going to larger, meatier tires if the high pressures are still required and rubbing occurs inside the wheel wells.

Are you alright there......... you haven't even got the car yet and you're already tripping about increasing tyre size.

Just get the car first drive it and fill up the tyres with 44psi FRONT 39psi REAR...........

When you decide to increase tyre size just go with 265/35/19 front and 295/30/20 rears.

Get the car first and worry about this shiit later 😒😒😒

Come on man..........

Edition 1 Coupe owners beware.......... potholes will smash these wheels if your tyre pressures are below the new recommended pressures as posted above over HERE

As a reminder Edition 1 Coupes use the same lightweight "forged" RXC 767 wheels by APPTECH and are prone to damaging

Remember guys if u have these wheels it's 44PSI front & 39PSI rears.

Yeah, I guess if you live somewhere with bad roads then these wheels are not suitable. Interesting that they increased the tire pressure recommendations for Australia. I still run them at 33f/32r and they are fine around here. Yes, I did slightly bend the lips of two of them last year during the lockdown, because of a piece of raised asphalt that I didn't remember was there and drove over it. The situation was unique because I started wearing contacts around that time and was still getting used to them. Probably shouldn't have been driving my car at the time. Anyway it was just the lip and a tire bubble. Got it repaired and filed a claim with the highway authority and they paid for the repair. Haven't had an issue since and while we do have potholes once in a while or some shoddy patchwork, I generally don't crash over them or drive through the pot holes, especially now that I see properly again.

Lower tire pressures will kill these wheels

My 2nd set that were also buckled from running lower tire pressures @japamg and didn't even hit any larger potholes. It was only from uneven roads here in Sydney (photo posted above).

I'm on my 3rd or 4th full set now and never had the buckling or cracked spoke issue since reluctantly increasing tire pressures 12 months ago to 44psi fronts and 39psi rear as recommended by AMG for the RXC wheels.

The pressures are high and blah blah but at $10,000 for a set, i'll settle for the reduced comfort.

Out of curiosity, if one purchases the the wheel replacement policy when taking delivery at the dealership, will these wheels be covered? Do they even offer this policy with this model of wheel?
