Update all, so AMG tech and MB tech performed reset/reprogramming of the wet clutch adaptation and were not able to reproduce the issue after that! So I will be picking her up Tuesday and do my “runs” I will let you all know how it all goes!

Fingers crossed for you mate. Make sure they get it to running temperature first as a run around the block never shows up anything. As for me I’m in mourning 😔

Getting the re adaption done straight after half term so fingers crossed or it too is gone.
I have lost faith in all 😔

I've driven performance cars for over 20 years and whenever I have had a problem it's been identified and I have fixed it. No issue with £1,000 on tyres every 6,000 miles or brake pads every 10,000 miles but for the brand (that represents AMG) not to know what's wrong and worst still tell you a violent judder is fine and within expectation is really disappointing. Especially as there are regular components of poor design to be looking at first. Do i need a gearbox specialist, MB indie and a service plan? I'd prefer to take it to one place and feel confident my car is in good hands.

I'm keen to understand, do you get MB to do this long process of readapting regularly (two hours they've quoted me with two people), do it yourself, or do the key on pedal down process? I have driven AMG's and RS's for years and never had to make the gearbox relearn. I've also owned this since new, so for it to start behaving like this at 5 years old and having done 20k seems weird if it needs doing regularly.

Great news AKL, fingers crossed for me!

I don’t care what they do with it so long as i get all my money back. Sounds bad cause the problem will just be passed on.

As long as they can reset the clutch, everything will be fine. The clutch has to be replaced, as soon as it does not respond to the Star Diagnose anymore, which was true in my case (an the cases of others).

Could this be a way forward for our vehicles? We all seem to have the same issues.
Who diagnosed this for you?

Mercedes-AMG Affalterbach via online scan.

It took them a while to find a solution last year. They made my dealership replace many other things, before they found out that the wet clutch could be the problem.

Thanks J.M.G
My mechanic didn’t rule out the wet clutch he just said they make a droning noise first. I’ll run this by him and go from there.

Gear changing issues C63 2017 W205

New thread but some of you may have commented on a similar thread, not sure what else to do though. Symptoms
  • Under slight acceleration it judders from around 1700rpm 40/50mph upwards throughout the gears
  • Every now and then it feels like its going to stall
  • When going in to reverse i need to rev higher
  • Clunking when dropping down gears
  • Slight vibration through peddle
  • Only happens when engine is running at normal temp
  • Could have had a bad MAP from previous owners but its been put back to stock and updated.

Things checked and replaced:
  • Software updates to engine/gearbox/rear axle
  • All oil levels checked and OK
  • Spark plugs/coil packs/air filters replaced
  • Live data run doesn’t show any issues
  • MB cant find anything wrong
  • No codes or warning lights

so was the wet clutch the problem after all? Was this the fix to the jerkiness and juddering?

Not that I’m aware of, the garage i brought it from have said no it wasn’t. But they could just be saying that. I was on the understanding that if it had a tune, getting it put back to stock would clear anything put on.

Update. Car still has the issue. My theory is that they didn't let it fully warm up. Contacting my service advisor today to let him know.... Not the happiest right now lol
