Correct Tire pressure

I have a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires on my 2021 C63s Cabriolet. I was checking the tire pressure the other day and saw each tire was at 35 lbs. The sticker on the door sill recommended a pressure of 44. My car is a around 5-6 weeks old so I would think the 35 lbs is what the dealer checked them at before delivery. Is 44 lbs too much for my cars set-up? The ride is obvious harder when I inflated the tires to MB recommendations of 44 lbs.

Check inside your gas filler door, that should be the correct pressure. I run my GLC on the low side of what is recommended which is around 31 psi. Anything higher than that and I can't get traction.

I run mine 45 psi which also give a you better protection on the wheels if you ever hit a pothole

Don't use door sill or gas filler cap data. Get an infrared thermometer to measure the outside, middle, and inside parts of each of your tires after a normal drive, and adjust the tire pressures accordingly so the temperature differences between these 3 points are minimized. This way, you will get the maximum traction possible.

LOL. Unless you at a race track. This is extreme.

I keep mine at 40-41. This will protect the wheels better from any road hazards that can't be avoided or that sneak up on you. Search the forum for threads on this topic and you'll see people who have damaged their OEM wheels by not having a high enough tire pressure.

with the 19/20" stagger I run 42 front 38 rear - close to spec but higher in front due to the potential issue with the rims (it's been discussed in other threads)

gotta reset your TPMS in the instrument cluster service menu after making your tire pressure adjustments.

FWIW, it depends on the construction of the tire as to what the final tire pressure needs to be. Case in point, I also own a Macan Turbo with 20" wheels and an air suspension. The manufacturer calls for 33/36 if only 2 people in the vehicle. 36/39 if it's loaded up. Since 95% of the time, it's just me it should be 33/36. I have found that running 36/36 all around is, IMO, the best pressure to run. A slight improvement on understeer and not over-inflated in the rear. Tires? Goodyear Eagle Asymmetrics. Now my soon-to-be third set waiting at the dealership. I like 'em.

On the 2020 S coupe, I have found running 38/38 is optimal while running Conti Sport Extreme's on 19/20 rim set. It's really subjective. I would suggest people try varying the pressure to see what feels better, or worse, for them. Eventually, you will find that optimum pressure based on the tire and your driving habits.
