Think it is...

I'm leaning towards the car - still apprehensive but chalk it up to a lesson learned.

I guess for essentially 11-12k over the course of the loan may be worth it for a newer car exactly how I want.

Was just about to say something similar.
Op put it this way...if you don't lose money on your current car then you would essentially be paying what you would of if you built the car to your spec. Your current car pretty much never existed or was just a short term test drive.
