CA dealerships that perform Renntech tunes?

CA dealerships that perform Renntech tunes?
Does anybody know of any California Mercedes dealerships that will install Renntech Stage 1 tunes? I live in Central Cali, but would drive to a dealership for install of such a tune if there was one.

Why don’t you contact Renntech and ask for Mercedes dealer sponsor.

A stage 1 Renntech tune is plug and play, you don't need a dealer or vendor to do it - you buy the kit and simply plug into the OBDII port connection and press a button.

That is a great idea. Hadn't thought of that. I will call them on Monday. I just figured there may be just a few people on here that would know.

Thank you. I realize that. But if the plug and play is performed by an authorized Mercedes dealer, then its on record and would have to be covered at least by the dealership, if not also MBUSA, if something went wrong or came into question with a tune file on the car.

Renntech tune and MB performing it doesn't give you an ounce of warranty support - when you flash the car with a different tune MB slaps your wrist - it's certainly not covered by warranty if something goes wrong and proven to be caused by your tune....it's the risk you take. However, Renntech is top notch, so I wouldn't hesitate to use it personally, and plan to do so in the near future.

This is a tough one because amg was not mercedes or part of mercedes. They took cars and modified them and the owner of renntech was part of amg when they were tuning cars. Renntech branched off of amg to become its own company and mercedes merged with amg to become one company. Pretty sure you are cover 100% if a warranty claim comes up.

I inquired with Renntech and a dealer who still installs Renntech. Renntech straight out responded the less MB knows the better. The dealer was less straight forthcoming and never directly answered the question…and I walked away. I heard they used to have some kind of agreement and even called some dealers certified installers but these days are gone as far as I can tell. But among all the tunes Renntech still has a stellar reputation for not damaging your car.

About 6 years ago I took my e55 into my renntech dealership (flagship motors) and had renntch airbox and tuned to the max. It had kleemann tuning and a asp 180 pulley. The transmission was going out and needed a new one shipped from Germany and mercedes covered it. Last I heard they are no longer a renntech dealership but is still listed on renntechs website as one. The main tech there was impressed on how loud the supercharger was whinning and asked how much boost I was running. They covered it seeing my renntech airbox and the bill was about 11k

I was under the impression that the ECU scan CA smog techs have been performing for years were already checking this. Either way, flash back to stock and remove all non-CARB compliant parts and there should be no issues passing. Additionally, CA does not perform emission testing on new cars (2017 and after) until the 8th year (and every other year thereafter).

new cars here dont have to smog until their 8 years old. so a 2021 model doesnt need to even see a smog check until 2029.
