Warning on tuned cars

I BMW has already done it. I’m not sure about Mercedes but it coming. My M4 tuner told me to do not bring the car in the dealer for any kind of services/repairs if I want to keep my tunes. Once the dealer update the softwares, my tuner won’t be able to put the tunes back. So BMW has a softwares update to prevent tuners from tuning their cars. For now, tuners has not yet able to break the codes yet.

Apples to oranges we have the hardware to flash the firmware the way mercedes flashes the cars.

I just brought my car in to get the latest firmware done that fixes the cold start for California cars. 20 min later we flashed all the modules to the previous firmware.

That is why you flash it back to the stock file for an emission test.

It not that simple like it use to be. As of now on BMW, once the dealer flash with the new software, you can not re-flash it. The tuners are currently us working on cracking the code to re-flash their tunes back on

I also heard the Chevrolet is already doing this software on the new Corvette.

Wouldn't you lose that cold start change once you revert back to old firmware though?
