New to me c63s

Hi, everyone I just got me a 2018 C63s. I am loving it so far but do have one question. My reverse sensors seem to not work or are turns off. Any ideas on what to check or if there is a setting to turn them on?

Are you sure you have parking assistance package? It doesn’t appear you do looking at the picture you’ve posted. I don’t see the sensors on the front bumper.

+1...if that's a picture of your car, then the problem is that it doesn't have parking sensors. They are not standard on the C63. Have to get the park assist package which adds the sensors and the 360 camera. I think you get the basic backup camera standard, since it's mandated by law now.

Gotcha, do you know what the sensors on the back bumper are for then?

Which sensors? If you have these, then those would be parking sensors, but I didn't think they were only on the rear in any case.

I have the two very center ones and that’s it.

So those would be part of the diffuser. Is it possible that your car doesn't have the original diffuser on it? I'm guessing aftermarket diffuser with sensors, but they aren't actually hooked up to anything. There would definitely be additional sensors in the bumper. Here's the rear end of a sedan. You can see the additional sensors in the bumper. This one I think has an aftermarket diffuser, too. There are 4 sensors in the rear and four sensors in the front.

Interesting, I had not considered an aftermarket diffuser.

I'm pretty sure that the factory sedan (maybe coupe too) diffuser is the same for both cars with and without park assist. If you don't have it you get plastic plugs/blanks in the diffuser where the sensors should go. I had to transfer them over to my aftermarket diffuser when I installed it.

Congrats on the car, welcome to the club! Hope that you get as much enjoyment out of yours as I do mine!

I'm quite certain this is the case. The non-AMG versions have the same thing with the lower front air dam covers.

Appreciate the info because I too thought that my sensors weren't working.

I appreciate all of the responses. In the couple of weeks I have owned it the only thing that has me a little concerned is a noise in the front passenger wheel well. It sound kind of like a thud and only happens when I am backing out of my driver way with the steering wheel turned to the left. Any ideas? I am going to try and get a video of it.
Edit: just tried to recreate it when I got home today. Could it just be an issue of cold shocks in the morning?

Mine does it everyday pulling out of the driveway when cold, it's actually a pretty loud pop. Only does it once, I wouldn't worry to much about it.

That makes me feel better. Agreed it does sound like a loud pop.

A sound like that is typically caused by the brake pads seized to the rotor and breaking free. Not really something you want. Are you parking the car with wet brakes in your garage? That'll typically do it.

it's not the brakes, I've had that happen to and it's a different sound. it actually happened to me this weekend as I had washed the car the weekend prior and hadn't driven it. It was really pretty stuck when I took it out of the garage and popped rather loudly when it broke free. The car then proceeded to do the previously referenced pop at the end of the drive way turning left. It's got to be a bushing or something seating.

No not the brakes. It is not when i first start rolling and only happens first thing in the morning when the right front tires drops off the drive way edge.

Gotcha. I'd have it checked out honestly. That's typically something loose in the suspension, even if it only occurs when it's all cold. Could be a loose bolt. I've had this in the past with other cars, and it always turned out to be something loose or worn. I even had popping/creaking noise in my 2019 during low speed maneuvers from the front suspension and turned out to be the control arms that needed to be replaced. Was taken care of under warranty. My previous Audi RS5 had a similar issue and the control arms needed to be replaced. These heavy cars also destroy the front rubber bushings fairly quickly and they start to crack after a while. It's a very common maintenance item and something I had to do on all of my recent cars.
