The price gauging has started!!

Closely monitor Cars.com and autotrader and just today i've seen prices go up by a few K and a lot prices that were listed are now "Please contact dealer for price."

Can only imagine the markups on the last of the new C63s...

Not good!

I just posted in the V8 cancel thread, there was an obsidian black still available as of this afternoon, being sold @ MSRP around $97.k, fully loaded. I was pretty shocked when he emailed me the price. If anyone's still interested, grab it while you still can!

But there's no other vehicle within the market that I desire more than my C63S

So I am in the market for a C63s coupe (have a WTB thread in the Marketplace) and have some “lofty” goals in terms of the spec I want.

Preparing for my purchase about a month or two ago, based on the top end of my budget (75k), I’ve gone from looking at a loaded, lower mileage FL (2019) to a well sorted PFL..and that’s still at the top end.

I’m in this dilemma - do I wait 3 months, 6 months to see if the market drops/settles, or cave and get into either a PFL or FL (with an accident on it’s record).

It’s ultimately my decision to make - just looking for someone to talk me (or push me) off the ledge..haha!

I'd recommend waiting a bit to see if market drops/settles. As many have said right now it's a seller's market, and it might not be the best idea to get a car with accident on its record. I think in general, when it comes to buying, it is almost always better to wait it out and let the rush fade before you make the move, but it's ultimately your call. Best of luck with your search though!

Hard pass on a car with an accident on the record unless you know 110% what happened, pictures (receipts if any) and all. I sold a truck recently with a carfax ding bc I got insurance involved, all that happened was the sidewall of the tire tore off someone's bumper in a parking lots, 0 damage to the truck, and I had pictures/documentation to prove it.

Thanks for the perspective! This is obviously the logical thing to do. I’m getting out of my e90 M3 and don’t “need” a car. I think most of
us would agree that being without a performance car, for any period of time, is tough (yeah, yeah..first world problems). Especially when you’re used to having one at your disposal. Gotta drive the Tesla for a while lol!

I guess I’m not really sure what a “good deal” is and at what threshold is to consider a settled market. Open to interpretation I suppose.

Yup, know the drill on that scenario. It just causes resale headaches down the road. Not
to mention financial risk under my own under ship.

For those that want to wait it out, if Taiwan goes down hard, you might be waiting a very long time. Even with that said, the vehicle manufacturers are hurting. No chips. Manpower issues with Covid. Supply chain issues. Get ‘em white you can.

Here's one: https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/new/se...ting=310691550

The MSRP is $78K. They're asking $115.6K!

Yeah, that one has been discussed in the other thread. I think MSRP on it was in the $90k range. 'm wondering if it's even still available as it's already been listed for around a week. Even with high ADM's, I've heard some dealers are having bidding wars on remaining AMG's.

Here's a new arrival at MB Walnut Creek, in Iridium Silver. Very nicely spec'd, with AMG performance seats and both carbon packages. I'm pretty surprised they didn't opt for the $200 wireless charging. Other than that, it's pretty l loaded to the max. Expect at least a $20k ADM being that it's in Cali.

Well said. With the way things are trending, I just can't see the market improving anytime soon with the chip shortages and supply chain issues. Not to mention, it's a very probable bet that these V8's aren't ever coming back, certainly not the C class. So expect prices to remain in sky high for a while.

Pearland, huh? Let me know if you're ever in the Katy or West Houston area to meet up!

It's affecting all of the manufacturers. I was goofing around on the Audi website specing out a car just for ****'s and grins to see what I would have had to spend to have like performance and options versus my 21 C63, well it came out around 120K for a Audi RS 5 Sportback and I got this notification as I was building it

Interesting...but I thought VIN lookup usually just gives base MSRP which is $78,250?

If the actual build sheet showed the MSRP @ $78K, that would be the first C63s coupe I've seen ordered with $0 in options!

That would be very rare...no options on a C63S!? That one is very odd, it doesn't give much other than just the Vin.

I'm pretty sure the VIN lookup just gives the base MSRP. The listing on MB SF doesn't have the build sheet, but it does list it as a designo graphite grey magno which is something like a $2k option. That option alone would take it over $80K MSRP. I'll bet it's a pretty loaded car.

Link to the MB SF listing: 2021 magno graphite grey listed @ $115.6K

If anyone's interested, here's some information. I have the build sheet....MSRP $96,345. It's still available as of Saturday, for $18.6k ADM.

Gorgeous car, with the most impressive build sheet and priced extremely reasonably. I've seen lesser spec'd 2018 PFL's go for $10k over what you're asking. GLWTS!!
