Ps that don't work! You will get limp after 4500 rpms

Zac intake is taking care of what I'm talking about with there scoops directing air to the filter. But still with hood closed its not getting as much with hood open on dyno.

Here is a good fix...

Feel like we have hijacked the thread here a bit.
But to settle this claim, albeit crudely with some plasticine you can see there is plenty of room above and around our filters with the bonnet closed. A cone style filter offers many advantages over the panel. Those that are interested can read more on our website. Happy intake shopping @danielguo83 👍

My car did have more turbo lag when I used a ZAC and it went away when I changed to a closed system but I think it had to do with the BOV venting to air.

Talking C63/GLC63 intake honest opinion

Late post, but honestly the VRP intake is not a very good design, it just sucks in hot air run after run. Same thing for the BMS intake, that one is even worse after testing. Eventuri is good but pricey same goes for the weistec intake. The only two I would recommend would be the first generation Blackboost intake and the CTS turbo intake. The cts is very good for the price in my opinion, I currently have it on my GLC and is good after logging some data.
The link is to the cts intake from deutschtuning's website, the shipping was a littler cheaper here. Hope this helps C63/GLC63 owners!

It is virtually the same open box design as all of the other kits in the market. The CTS kit has almost half the size filters and looks like the piping is only 2.5" our kit is already proven, The hot air is cooled post turbocharger so has little to no effect on performance, Also the design of the C/GLC keeps the heat on the outside of the engine to a minumum under driving conditions.

I would agree that having a larger filter and greater surface area does increase air flow (also factoring material density of different filters), however, when the filter is sucking in hot air, which can not be fully avoided on the m177 hot V no matter how much shielding there will always be heat lingering around for vacuum to suck it up. If you input the the filter designs into CAD and use the airflow software, the closed off units can show a decrease in temps and an increase of air flow based on given parameters. Also the CTS and Blackboost intakes are certainly more closed off since they have a sealed housing and use the factory duct to drive air in. Looking at PTG, Weistec, and Eventuri, their units are completely closed of and carbon to reduce almost all heat from being sucked in. I just not a fan of the VRP and BMS intakes since there is only a thin piece of aluminum "blocking" heat and also they factory air guiding duct is not used which helps direct incoming air. We have used them in stock and stage1/2/3 vehicles and have found that IAT's are relatively higher compared to the closed off units. IAT's won't lower as much on the m177.1 c63/glc63 since the trans is cooled from the main heat exchanger which can struggle until they are both separated. I am not against VRP you have some great products however I do believe there are better intake options. I don't want to be a keyboard warrior but just stating my opinion and experience on the topic!
