So quick update today. While I was doing a spirited drive with my buddy the car went into soft limp mode, pressing the gas does not make it go at all
Dash said front collision sensor inoperative and electronic diff lock inoperative, once I turned the car off and on again it went away and normal again
can anyone chime in on this? Don't want to go to dealer as the local dealer really sucks

Ordered a gas pedal from a wrecker and we'll see if the code goes away

This is the throttle sensor value when pushed to the floor, does the value look correct for the guys that have a scanner?

Did you find out what was the issue? My W213 doing the same thing going to limp mode with 2 errors: radar inoperative and brake assist inoperative. Both errors looked at by the dealer and said their DTC reading a tree leave is by one of the sensors, could not see any tree leave anywhere but cleared the code and did software update for these 2 errors being a common software patch. Drove the car for a week than went into limp mode with Brake assist error only and P2138. I heard that the gas pedal wire harness may be faulty and being a common fix that even roadside assistance put their finger on it as soon as they hear about it. My car is at the dealer now and will update if the gas pedal wire harness is the culprit.

I'm getting P2138 on my X204 GLK350 ... Cleared the error, it ends up coming back. I tried resetting the throttle position sensor. (full throttle car off, key in run position, turn key off, then release throttle) comes back again after a while for no apparent reason.

What did your issue end up being?

Yes. The gas pedal wire harness replacement fixed my problem. This specific issue went away. When the throttle position doesn't correspond to the pedal position 99% chance is that the gas pedal wire harness is the issue.

However; shortly after that issue started with my w213 my battery standby mode stopped working and that got resolved by ignition module update AND battery changed even though only 3 years old, and passed shortest, it failed Medtronic Test. I think this may not be related to your issue in the X204 but when the battery is acting up all hell can break loose, and all sorts of odd errors can come up.

I would Midtronics Test the battery and replace if it fails this test. If your P2138 returns after you reset it, than replace the gas pedal wire harness.

Thanks for the detailed information..

I'll be getting the battery tested/checked next week to see if it could be that. It starts fine, but I think it is the original battery (2013), so I've more than gotten a good life out of it. lol

Otherwise, next will be the gas pedal wiring harness.

Thanks!
