C63s Coupe prices are going off the charts

I've had several Porsche 911's, both coupe and convertible. Recently I looked into a AMG GT 63 and 63S. They do take the Porsche in exotic looks and sound but that is where it ends. I sold my 2017 911S coupe last year and bought a C63s Cab. I did this not for performance but rather for comfort when entering and exiting. A 911 is so much more nimble than an AMG GT.
If you don't test drive a 911 before purchasing an AMG GT, you are not being fair with yourself.

We are not talking about the GT 4-door here. We are talking about the GT coupe, GT, GT S, GT C, GT R, GT R Pro and GT Black Series. The GT 4-door is an AMG spin on the E63, big and heavy. The GT Black Series eats every stock 911 for lunch at the moment, just to be clear.

Not based on the data I've seen. It contends with the GT2 RS MR, which is not a stock 911. It's a tuned version from Manthey-Racing. There's currently somewhat of a debate going on. The MR holds the fastest Ring time, but it's not a factory car. The BS holds the fastest Ring time of a factory car.

but agree the BS is more of a traditional factory car that you can design on the config and have it show up at the dealer. My whole point is the BS is not eating stock 911 lunches. It’s less than a second faster than the last gen GT3 RS on some tracks (difference could be tires at that point).
Id still prefer the BS tho

and AMG independently hires engineers and contracts with various manufacturers including MB… similar to MR and Porsche except MR is only 51% owned by Porsche but you can still order MR kits via Porsche tequipment.

Hey all, just stumbled across this old thread and thought I'd chime in. The used car market has started to cool down (along with most other markets, cool down would be putting it lightly). I just bought a 2019 C63S with a short list of options (original MSRP on the car was 92k, so I think it has around 7k in options), and 175 miles - not a typo, the car had basically never been driven. After 3 weeks I'm up to 600 miles, having trouble containing myself to break it in properly! Anyway I paid 79k, which I think was a great deal. From the research I did on car gurus and craigslist (searched most major cities on CL for C63s), it seems like 2019 C63s are going for between 75-85k with most having around 20k miles. So I figured this car being almost as good as brand new, should be worth 85k or a little more. Fortunately for me, the seller just posted it on craigslist and there aren't many buyers for a c63 on our little island (Maui, Hawaii). There was a 2018 C63 with 20k miles at MB of Maui so I went to see that one also, and it was 77k (advertised for 73k, plus dealer fees and taxes).
This is the most expensive car I've ever owned, but I figured I deserve it, I work hard. Plus I've done well with cars recently; bought a Tesla model S 6 months ago for 48k and just sold it for 58k after putting 6k miles on it, and bought a Porsche Macan turbo 3 years ago for 58k, drove it for 45k miles, and just sold it for 55k. So I felt like I deserved to spend a little more on a car that knocks my socks off! Can't wait to get this thing tuned and new downpipes to really make it sound nasty!

2020 AMG GTC Coupe & 2018 Macan Turbo
I'm guessing it's probably largely driven by the current supply chain issues and the fact that it's hard to get a car at all. Supply and demand, you know. The end of the V8 probably has something to do with it as well as the spy videos of the next generation C63 are trickling out, and the prospect of there not being any coupes anymore. I'm not really paying much attention to it. It's a number on a piece of paper. Who knows what it will look like in a few years. But what's the point of having the car sit around in the garage and not be enjoyed driving it? Might as well sell it now. Admittedly, I'm regularly driving my wife's car these days for quick errands, as I don't really want to drive the AMG short distances, but I still take it out on the weekends. With the winter rain starting, I'm also not likely to head out for a canyon run, which I haven't been very motivated to do lately anyway as my typical stopping points along the way to have a nice lunch have supply chain issues and/or long lines. Just waiting out the crazy times we are living in currently. It does keep the mileage down for now, though.
I WANT to be seen driving what I own.

I’ve never understood ‘garages queens’. The idea of any of my previous and current rides sitting for extended periods of time goes against every fiber of my being. Now, I will say if one car is dirty and the other clean with rain in the forecast guess which one sits until it’s dry on the roads…
