Radiator in the front bumper
Hi,
What's the radiator right behind the front bumper for? It's a long and narrow one and it's oriented towards the pavement.
I know the M3 and M4 had one in a similar position and it was for the oil cooling system. Quite a few owners ended up wirh huge bills after puncturing it.
Secondly, does anyone have any docs on the M177 engine and general tech in our cars? Was only able to find one about the E63

The low one that is parallel with the road is an oil cooler. They are very durable and don't get punctured unless you decide to beach your car or decide it's a 4wd and go off-roading. The other heat exchangers that are perpendicular to the road in the front bumper are the ones that get punctured unless you have the updated protectors installed since there is very little grill to protect it.
