C63 Common problems?

Hello everyone, I just purchased a 2018 C63 and I’m already noticing some things. The dashboard says “check coolant level” but the reservoir is full and isn’t leaking. Any known common problems on this? Also is this something to be alarmed about, I don’t want my car overheating

tldr:Check coolant level lights, coolant reservoir is full. How should I action this

Thanks!

*****There are two reservoirs. One on the passenger side near the front, and the other in the middle of the motor. I would also check the auxiliary heat exchangers on both sides of the car to make sure they are have not been hit by stones or debris and are leaking a bit. If the car had its heat exchangers or aux heat exchangers replaced, and/or coolant replaced/flushed, and it was refilled just using a funnel, the car *will* have big air pockets that can set off that sensor. The coolant *must* be refilled using a vacuum method versus just trying to fill the system by dumping in coolant from the reservoirs.

The proper method is using a special tool that seals the system and uses vacuum to literally suck in the coolant with no air pockets being formed. No way you get the air out by squeezing hoses or "burping" or whatever old school method worked on some old car back in the olden days. The water pumps are different now and cavitate easily and don't self prime like old school tech did. There is also the possibility that your system doesn't hold pressure properly, due to faulty cap(s), or less likely a blown head gasket, etc.. The system can be pressure checked for leaks with the same or similar tool used to refill the system, assuming the tool is used properly and the adapter for the tool is installed properly, is the correct size, etc..

Anyway, stuff to think about and check. Good luck.

Hey MaxVO2, wow thank you for the in depth response! I will bring this up to the shop for consideration. When I bought the car, the guy simply said “it’s a sensor” thing but I definitely want to get it checked out and confirmed

appreciate the time you took for your reply 🤝🏻😁
