Downpipes
My setup has secondary cat deletes and special spacers on the O2 sensors to help mitigate the possibility of check engine lights, fault codes, etc.. since I have the secondary cat deleted.. You can do a search on this and see options folks have done in the past. The spacers need to be replaced or adjusted on occasion if you get a CEL light or there are programming/tuning options available to eliminate the problem. Folks that drive their cars a lot seem to have to replace the spacers at some point versus guys like me who have lots of cars and rarely drive the C63s. So far so good for my setup..
I think RennTech has complete CARB approval and they have an excellent reputation with respect to providing products that work as advertised, no CEL lights, etc... I have not seen the RennTech ones advertised in some time so don't know if they still offer them, but have seen them before and they are really well thought out and built. They are probably made by another company for them as several other products they have are, but do not know their source.
My downpipes are by Meisterschaft and I have 200 cel cats on them with spacers. I'm happy with them, have had my car dyno tuned pretty extensively, and have other mods that lend themselves well to having downpipes (bigger turbos, etc..) as an upgrade.
Good luck whatever you decide.
Our ECU tune for the C 63 has CARB approval, but the downpipes do not. Give us a call, we are happy to answer any questions you may have.
