Cracked wheel issue

Dear MB forum,

This is my first time writing a post. Please let me know if I did something wrong.

I am an AMG C63s coupe 2019 version owner living in North America and I have enjoyed the car so much since the first day. But all of these start to change based on what happened to me currently.
Actually, this is the second time the issue happened to me in the four years of ownership. Last week the dashboard warned me one of my tires had low pressure so I took it to the dealership. They told me there were two cracks on two wheels which are non-fixable. The replacement is $1500/wheel plus labor and tax. They also sent pictures - both cracks are hairline wide and less than 1" long on the inner edge of the rim. I have been driving the car with extreme care and did not recall hitting any big potholes or curbs. Additionally, both tires are totally with no signs of damage. It led me to think the wheels are defective but I have no proof. I also did some research in the forum and found this is not a unique case. There are many AMG drivers in North America complaining about the cracked wheel issue. The even trickier part is that one driver argued with his local dealership if they were not responsible for the wheel, he would take the wheel for a full evaluation. Then the dealership replaced the wheel for free.

English is not my first language. I am not sure if I can be that eloquent to argue with my dealership to prove my points. I also called around the area to see if there is any specialist who could fix the cracks. But most of the responses are "AMG wheels are special and difficult to fix. Cannot guarantee results."

I am not sure what to do now. Any MB lover in the forum please chime in for advice.

Thank you very much!

Have you seen this thread? Are those the same wheels?

If it's cracked, forget it. You'll need a new wheel. I myself have had this issue too and currently on my 3rd set of factory RXC wheels (in that thread).

Thanks Jimmy for your quick reply and information. The wheel I have is the 5-spoke one as below. After reading the thread, I deeply echo the relationship between the tire pressure and the possibility of a crack. The cracks happened to me when the temperature dropped a lot recently in my area. I usually go with 38 psi and when it cracked I think it was about 32 psi.

One update with the dealership battle. I texted my argument to the MB representative and he said: "Yes, the wheels are not made for road impact, they are made for performance on flat surfaced roads without potholes..... The wheels are a factory defect". I replied, "Since it is a factory defect, should the factory be responsible for it"? I am waiting for his response now.
