MY18 w205 C63 : Rat chewed something off! Please help

Hi folks, I recently noticed my car making an unusual whining noise when I accelerate hard, It was really off. It almost sounds like a house is loose. I checked under the hood and I see that this was chewed off, what sensor is this? And is this the cause of the noise? Is it something expensive to replace?

I took off the sensor and this was the part number, a0225451926

Also I've been driving the car, will this cause and issue to my engine? I have an appointment scheduled next week at my mechanic.

No idea what that is, maybe an air flow sensor? I wouldn't drive the car until it's fixed, but you're probably fine.

There's an identical sensor opposite of it so there's two of these, I honestly don't know what it is The car drives perfectly fine and I got no error messages on my dashboard.
I am going to get this fixed but I just wanted to know what it was since I have a week till I go to the mechanic.

Those are your factory OEM blowoff valves, they reroute the excess air back into your intakes or something like that, I don't remember the exact scientific explanation. Your car should drive fine with or without them.

So this is the sensor for it? It sounds like I can hear the excess air when I accelerate fast, which is what the whining sounds like. Almost like a blow off valve but not quite.

Is there any loss of power due to the sensor not being attached?

I had rodent damage on the exact same harness and Sensor. Seems like a sweet spot on these cars for the rats. I fixed it myself with heat shrink butt connectors and wire strippers and cutters.

I have nothing to connect the ripped wire to, the rat chewed it off clean from the connector. I need to take the pins out and redo the connection.

Worse comes to worse you can always get a new pigtail connector for the sensor at your local dealer. I would bring the connector and have them match it up or get the part number off it.

I got it fixed, the sound also went away. I figured it had to do with the intake not having the air diverted properly.
