Easiest way to remove or install OEM downpipe without cutting

Hey guys,

My car is bone stock but the only mod I did was the secondary cat delete. My car is coming up to the 4 year mark soon, so I want to purchase the warranty extension, but apprently the car needs to go through a inspection first before the warranty is extended. I am guessing the secondary cat delete will be an issue. So I am looking to purchase a pair of used OEM downpipes and just put it back to stock.

What will be the easiest way to do this? Just dropping the transmission? I have heard of someone taking of the steering rack as well instead of dropping the transmission.

Drop the transmission.

Easiest way is to just cut the DPs, dropping the transmission is alot of work and not to mention alot more things can go wrong if you choose that path..

If you still have the original secondary cats attached to the pipes that are after the cats until the clamp.... And that part is unmodified, then a good welder should be able to weld them back in. As the welds would be before the cats and hidden by the cats themselves (red arrows in the pic), and once the bottom cover plate is back in place, the dealer won't be able to see that they were removed. The only part visible is the secondary cat onwards from under the car.

However, i bought an extended warranty and the dealer did see my secondary cat mod and mentioned it but didn't mind. I guess you could try that option out first.
