Does this fender look repairable to you?

So my car got hit while I was at work, go figure.

Trying to decide if its worth taking a hit to future trade-in value by going through my insurance or fixing it out of pocket?

It's certainly repairable, but they'll likely replace it with a new fender. Can't find my magnet at the moment to verify, but pretty sure the fenders are aluminum. so that makes mending them much more difficult. Looks like the hit was also close to the headlight, so there might be internal damage as well. Best to get an estimate from a body shop to see what they say and then you can decide. I've never had an issue with trade-in value after a low speed collision. Had two over the years where another car hit mine at less than 5 mph. The dealerships just brushed it off. They don't care about parking lot collisions. BTW, the body shop will likely report the work to CARFAX regardless of whether you went through insurance or not.

You most likely need a new fender as that part of the fender is curved and tough to get back to previous shape.

Paintless dent removal can definitely fix that. Give them a try.

Unlikely given the curve of the fender and the fact that the damage is at the edge of the panel.

You’ll be surprised. At long as the paint doesn’t chip off, it should give it a try. This one look pretty bad and fixed nicely

I'm guessing those are steel fenders. Popping out steel panels is much easier. As I said above, our fenders are aluminum (found my magnet to verify). PDR can still work, but much harder to fix than steel panels
