Currently in NYC is in a heavy orange wildfire smoke haze is abound and will be here for a few more days. I need to use my car tomorrow for about 2 hour round trip. I just had both the Dust and Cabin filters replaced. Will these extreme conditions compromise these filters and have a long lasting smell? Or any other conditions to be concerned with?
I parked in an indoor garage that has an Enterprise car rental. Would it be better just to rent a car for half a day?
Update: I just rented the car for tomorrow.
I say I'd be more concerned about my lungs. We've had our share of wildfires here in California over the years. Had ashes rain down from the sky at times. Filters can be replaced. The cabin filter I believe gets replaced at every service anyway. Don't know what the situation currently is in NYC, but if you still have the orange glow, then the smoke is high up. That's what's causing the glow. We had this back in September 2020. It was the eeriest day I had ever experienced. Woke up around noon, because my body thought it was still night. Strange day that was.
