Jacking up front end.

I'm wanting to lift both sides of the front end at the same time. start by drive car up on race ramps, jack a center point and put the tires on raceramps wheel cribs or jack stands. The rear it seems the center of the diff on the cooling fins is the point to jack. use some wood to spread load. Now on the front I found an image that shows a small block to do so. however it does not specify if this is for the 4cyl-v6- or the v8. In images I showed how we do it on corvettes, Id like to do the same with the c63S. I also found photos of how to do this but on a W204 not a 205 c63s not sure if the same applies for both gens

I want to know how to do this on a 205 c63S. if that jack point is the same on a 205 c63s as its on this 204

This is the rear, block of wood under diff cooling fins.

this is how we do it on our C5 vett. we just use the front cradle.

Rear c5 vett jack method. easy as the front.

The jack point for the front is in the same spot. If you look under the car you'll see it.

great to hear thanks. Needed confirmation before I assumed 204 and 205 where the same point. On this chassis where do we put jack stands?

Under the plastic jacking points behind the front tires and in front of the rear tires. Crawl under and look.

I would strongly advise against jacking the rear of the vehicle up from the aluminum diff cover. That would most likely end in a costly mistake.

How so? this photo from Mb shows it as the designated point. it also doe snot specify if this is only for non finned diffs or the AMG diff with fins. if this made a comment about finned vs non finned it would be easy.

the C63 is kinda too low for me to jack up from the front even with a low profile hydraulic jack.

I have to lift one side up, put it on a jack stand then move to the front to lift up properly.

This is why i bought race ramps, gets the front and rear high enough, that i can get under the car ( not comfortably as jack stands but i can fit). with the car on race ramps, it allows enough room for a lo pro jack.

If the car is a little too low for you to jack up the front with a low profile hydraulic jack, just drive up on some 1" to 1.5" thick pieces of wood that are wide enough for the tire to sit on. That should give you enough clearance for the jack.

I put the jack stands on the pivot mount of the control arm. My jack stands are the "U" kind and don't fit into the jacking points that are behind the front wheels or in front of the rear wheels. You can kind of get an idea of where I put them in this pic.

that’s exactly what I’m looking to do. I drove front and rear on race ramps, that gives me the height I need for jacking the car up. Where do you jack the rear end up? Someone else said the rear diff is not the spot even with MB doc showing it’s ok

For the rear I use a jack puck and use the lifting points in front of the rear wheels. I jack up one side, place a jack stand under the rear control arm pivot point with the frame, then jack up the other side. I don't want to risk bending one of the cooling fins on the diff.

I’m trying to avoid one side at a time jacking but I’m not seeing a alternative. I wish MB on that print specified if it also applies to the cooling fins.

I think a new diff carrier, should those fins break, runs like $4500. That is enough of a deterrent for me. I have a set of quickjacks that I use when I need all 4 wheels off the ground. Lifts the entire car off the ground about 2 feet. Best $1500 ever spent. Just make sure you get the XL model, as the lift points on our cars is too far apart for the standard model to reachj.

someone mentioned the diff cooling fins are just bolt on, not cast into the diff housing. Haven’t gone down and looked to confirm yet
