(FIXED) - P008A code

Hey guys, I’m new to the forum and was hoping I can get some help, I’ve been searching around the w205 and other forums to see if anyone else had this issue but didn’t find much. I just bought a 2019 C63s coupe yesterday and today while bringing my car back home I noticed the check engine light came on. After running the codes at autozone it came up P008A Low pressure fuel system pressure - too low. I know there’s others that have had this code before but the car hasn’t felt any different, I’m wondering if it’s a situation where a sensor noticed low pressure for a moment and turned the light on but the pressure is fine now? Just some background info, the car has ~49000 miles, last service was performed at ~48,500 miles, car feels normal as far as how it drives, it feels like it pulls normally, I don’t notice any rough idling or anything, car was being driven spiritedly in sport and sport plus prior to the light being on, it wasn’t until I parked the car at my buddies, and when I went to restart it a short while after I saw the CEL. I attached a copy of the test results to this post. Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated.

Issue FIXED

After letting the car sit for a few hours, I ended up taking the back seat out to familiarize myself with the fuel pump, uncovered it and inspected/pushed in the fuel line and whatever other electronics I found around there just to make sure everything was properly seated. I started the car up again and CEL went away. I’m wondering if my fat *** put some pressure on the fuel pump while I was sitting back there when I let my buddy take the car for a rip. I saw on other forum posts that the CEL P008A codes would come and go so I’ll have to keep an eye on it.

Also I checked around the car for any leaks and gas smell, and I double checked the gas cap and fuel door were secured properly. I’m not exactly sure if I fixed the issue or if it just went away by itself after a few hours, but at some point this week I’m going to check for codes again to see if it’s still there. At the very least I’m hoping this can give us a better understanding of the P008A code.

If it is fuel pump? I see on a just posted forum under "Farewell" that Iridium C63s is saying farewell and has a few parts listed for sale including a full m177 c63s fuel pump assembly.

I have a GLC 63 2018 with 44,000 miles. I have the same check engine light code for about 3 months. Keeps going on and off. Dealership said at first don’t worry. Now I’m beginning to worry cuz something’s needs to be done. Let me know how it goes for you

lately what I’ve been doing is when starting the car, instead of starting it the regular way with the foot pressed on the brake, I click the ignition button twice without my foot on the brake, letting the fuel pump prime itself, and then starting the car, it ends up starting perfectly and I haven’t had any issues with codes or the car sputtering upon start up. I’m still trying to figure out why that works though, and why some of us have the issue that we do.

That is because you are priming the fuel rail and lines with fuel when you do that. If you just start it right away it takes time for the rail and lines to build pressure causing an extended crank because of a failing fuel pump check valve. Their is a recall on the fuel pump module for our cars and various other models. Take it to the dealer and have it replaced.

For reference here’s the LI DOC. Your model is covered I believe. The recall if I remember correctly went back up to 2019 MY’s as well.

Try changing the fuel filter to see if that helps the "flow" / "pressure".

I had the same issue with my 2020 c63 with only 27000 miles and dealer replaced the fuel pump.
