I'm afraid to know cause I've been a loyal customer with Mercedes and hate to see one of their popular models fail but at least the new CLE will be a V8 so will be getting that instead

There are a couple of threads already. Check the W206 section. Discussion has been going on for a while. They seem to have finally hit US dealers. At least one person around here participated at an AMG Experience event in Germany with the C63SE and unsurprisingly came back disappointed. Car had multiple issues. They've been having issues with this whole drivetrain. To what degree they've finally sorted it out remains to be seen, but the new fancy electric turbo has been failing in many of them and it's just overall a super complicated drivetrain that's only asking for lots of issues once the warranty is over. To my knowledge they still haven't even fully sorted it out in the AMG One, which started this craze.
As you say, the sales are terrible. Word on the street is that they canned this drivetrain for the upcoming CLE 63 and it will be coming with the V8 instead, but will be delayed until the 2027 facelift as a consequence. Latest I heard is that this rumor has now been confirmed by AMG executives. It's been a complete blunder. They've completely developed this car past the traditional AMG customer. Nobody wants a 4 cylinder C63. On top of all this, the advertised 671 hp are only available for 10 seconds at a time, otherwise the battery and motor will overheat. Something that's conveniently left out by AMG itself and most reviewers. The sustainable power is only about 540 hp and if you combine that with the crazy curb weight, the power to weight ratio is laughable.
I haven't driven the C63 SE yet, but I've driven the GT63 SE back to back with the regular GT63 S and I walked away disappointed. It's not really faster in the real world, but noticeably heavier. Ended up being slower around the track, because it wanted to fly off the track in the corners and I had to reduce the speed.
I am planning to attend another AMG Experience event in Germany this September and the C63 SE is gonna be part of the fleet unfortunately. At least I have a chance to try it for myself and see if I'm missing anything. I'm mainly planning on attending this event because of the new GT63 Coupe and I'm curious about the CLE53. Both of these will be part of the fleet, so I won't be stuck with the C63 SE for the whole day.

There’s a new one for sale at the local dealer offering £5000 discount without any negotiation, the W206 C63 is a huge mistake by Mercedes, it’s possible plus point is 4 wheel drive but I’ll stick with my V8 thank you.

That discount seems low, too. I thought I just read the other day that there's an 18% discount from the factory on these things.

I agree, when I bought my fully loaded C63S estate in 2018 I got 16% off when the V8 was selling well, it all depended on when the dealer had to meet his targets, that was then in the U.K., could be different now.

Here's an opinion piece I just came across, which I think hits the nail on the head. I've been saying this for a long time. All these horsepower and 0-60 figures look good on paper and for bragging, but at the end of the day there's no emotion in these electric and electrified performance cars. Sounds like even Rimac has trouble selling the Nevera. Apparently nobody wants an electric hypercar, either.
