Was there a package that added the 23 speaker burmester sound system?
Like the title says, planning to buy my first AMG when my lease is up and the 2 most important things to me are the drive and sound system. Wondering if the upgraded 23 speaker burmester sound system was optioned at all in the W205.
Thanks for the help.

Hey d, I have a '23 with the Burnester system, but I think the only option was the stock set up with 13 or 15 speakers, didn't
see an option for more. What are you looking to buy?

Listen to the C63 Burmester system as it’s basically just some paper cone HK speakers with some nice Burmester grills attached to the doors.
In the PFL it’s not very good IMHO. If the sound system is particularly important to you or you’ve had custom installs in the past then there’s a chance you’ll want to upgrade it.
There’s multiple threads covering that and it’s probably easier to upgrade the non Burmester system.

I haven't had a chance to witness it, I think the info I had found was just an incorrect listing from a dealer. But I do generally like heavier bass, and the ability to really go loud without compromising the sound quality.

Yep one thing you'll notice with the Burmester system in the C is at lower volumes it has good decent bass, but as you increase the volume the bass will disappear.

I fitted drop-in footwell subwoofers and upgraded the rest of the front speakers and whilst it’s an improvement I still struggle to get it sounding as I’d like.
If I was doing it again I’d probably get a decent DSP installed first, then try and tune that before looking at fitting speakers.
The Burmester equaliser on the stock headunit is only 3 band, which isn’t ideal because it’s hard to actually configure the stock system to sound particularly decent.
When I viewed my car at the dealers it sounded good but I quickly found it wasn’t great and is probably my biggest gripe with the car.

I did the full Focal MBZ speaker and woofer implementation on my coupe. It's better than stock, especially once it gets broken in but it needs a better AMP/DSP combo. That is the crux of the Burmester system in the W205. It's probably also the most expensive and complex part - tuning, a worthy AMP/DSP combo etc.
I believe the Match UP10 DSP is what some other people have used. There is also a Focal Impulse "plug and play" amp - not sure how tunable it is, however.
