Question about a c63s I might purchase.
It has 1 owner and the car has around 50k miles. The owner told me cylinder 3 lost compression and his local dealer replaced the entire engine and he is currently breaking it in.
I asked him for the service records of everything and he is gathering that for me. The car has never been modified or tuned. What advice do you guys have for me? Would it be smart or stupid to buy this car.
The new engine has a 2 year warranty on it. I am not very knowledgeable about this car but I thought these engines were supposed to be rock solid unless he is hiding some type of information?
As soon I as recieve the service records I can post them to see what exactly they found and replaced.

The MB Warranty ended in 2023 unless an Extended Warranty was purchased. So the "new engine" had to be replaced at least sometime last year. Now in Sepember, 2024 and based on the milage history 50,000 miles, you would have to think the new engine would be broken in by now. MB engine break in period is 1,000 miles.

I am not sure why but getting private sellers to pull service records seems almost impossible. They almost always refuse, say they dont have time, or ghost me.
