Yikes the improvements sounds good on paper... except... that the dealbreaker is the sound got worse, that is a huge part of the experience.

You do lose a good amount of the rumble at idle & low rpm/speed in comfort & sport mode. Its just a tad bit quieter in sport+ and race mode.

Haha that's what they all say... until they get you in for a bullsh*t "recall" and sneakily update your software while it's in there 🙉

Oh no what will you do then!!

Probably not the same update. He's got a PFL according to his signature.

I see, that is a shame I guess will need to go downpipes to get it back.

I ha my car in to the dealer several weeks ago now to see why I cannot connect to the Sirius receiver. They said I either need a new head unit or they can try a "big" update which usually fixes it.
They said it takes about 4 hours to do.
Long story short they did the update but the Sirius still did not work, so I just use it off my phone via Bluetooth. My point is my car (2019 C63S) did not ever do the popping that I've heard andread others does. Wondering why.
The throttle does seem a little more crisper though.

Skip to 1:50 to hear the AMG... THIS is how your car should sound like... Note, this is completely stock. Not even a K&N filter or similar.

Definitely don't have that, nor did I ever! I am the 2nd owner by the way.

The FL have reduced pops, particularly below 4000 rpm and when driven moderately. This was largely driven by noise regulations in Europe. Interestingly, they have managed to bring some of the pops back in newer models. For example below is me driving the new GT 63 in Germany last month. Now keep in mind, this car is a lot louder inside than outside. Most of what you hear in the cabin is essentially picked up by microphones in the exhaust and pumped in through the speakers. It's actually rather loud inside and both my co-driver and I commented that this would get tiring on longer drives. The FL do pop if you drive them in anger and keep the revs above 4000. I actually like it that way. It's much more authentic and tied to how I drive instead of just pop & banging for no good reason, but to each their own. I find the FL sounds better in general. More of an authentic V8 sound, but others prefer the PFL.

WOW, I guess I may be keeping mine. That GT63 is QUIET compared to my stock first edition 2015 C63S. It sounds more like a cross between my Comfort setting and Sport setting. My Sport+ and Track setting give pops and bangs with NO FAKE SPEAKER sounds!!

Keeping my FL, too, but not for the sound. I liked the new GT63 overall, but hard to justify almost double the price tag. It's not too different from the C63 coupe and I don't care for AWD. Much of the tricky hardware it has such as the active suspension is to hide the almost 400 lbs weight gain it has even over the C205. The layout and everything is otherwise the same, just with a power bump. Sound is always subjective. The GT BS I drove last year for example sounds like no AMG before, but also mostly on the inside. Fairly quiet outside, but was a blast to drive.

Its not a bad compromise after having it for a few days. It drives better at part throttle and downshifts in Sport+ & Race are noticeably quicker and sharper on my PFL car.

So i tried reving the motor is lark in race, sport+, and comfort. Got 1 pop in race and that was it.
Unless I need to rev it to over 6,000 rpm to get the popping, then mine doesn't do the poping.

Dealer just told me there's a open recall and performed the ecu update... I hate it now, it's more quiet in idle and lose a lot of the pops. Anyone has success getting the dealer to revert the update?

Hopefully driving it longer will bring everything back as it relearns your driving habits, hopefully all it did was reset the transmission learning cycle so it needs to learn your driving again.

I have the opposite.

Prior to the update my car will not pop or crackle at all.

I now get multiple crackles and pops (in neutral) constantly, and I've driven only 25 miles since the update.

It's a very different car now, my 2019 will crackle and pop twice or so then stop.

It reminds me of my 2017 PFL , the only difference is the muffled sound due to the GPF in the FL

Try lifting your foot off the gas very quickly after a very good rev, you have to be very aggressive with the throttle. I hope it works out for you.
