Memory seats

Hello everyone.

The previous owner replaced the original seats with the performance seats.

The problem I have is that the seat memory does not work. Everything else works, steering wheel memory and mirror memory. Seat heating and electric movement also work. The only thing that is not memorized is the seat position.

The fault occurs in the driver's and passenger's seats.

It's not that it's a problem of not knowing how to use the door buttons, since the steering wheel and the mirrors are memorized.

I have tried, as indicated in other threads, moving the seat to the end of its travel in all movements, but it has not worked.

I don't know if the memory worked or not before changing the seats.

The car is a 2016 C63S sedan.

Any help will be welcome.

I could be wrong, but I believe the performance seats need a different module. The performance seats also have the leg extension which the standard seats don't have if I'm not mistaken, so with the performance seat there's another working button in the door to adjust those. With the other seats that's a dead button that doesn't move. Does the button with the red arrow below work to adjust your leg extension?

Thanks for answering so quickly.
The leg extension button works perfectly.
All seat movements can be done from the door buttons, except the headrest button, which the performance seats do not have.
It's the memory function of the seats that doesn't work. The other memories, steering wheel and mirrors do work.
I hope I can explain myself, I am with the translator, my english is very bad.

I understand what you are saying. I don't think I've come across an issue where the seat memory doesn't store the seat position and only the mirrors and steering wheel. I do know however that swapping the seats requires coding at a minimum to make the airbag work, so my guess is that they didn't do the coding correctly. I would probably have this checked out by an expert to make sure the airbags are working in case of an accident.

I take into account the issue of airbags. Thank you.

As superwiss says they have different control modules, but could also be the hall sensor, car does not fully recognize the seats so does not know where seat position is so cannot memorize

Check also when you move the seats all the way to the front and up, do they touch the sun visor at some point?

Tomorrow I will check if the sun visor touches the seat, although I don't know the reason for the question...

If seats do not stop before touching sun visors and/or and car roof, you can confirm the issue is the hall sensor

The seat touches the car roof.
I suppose that when they changed the seats they didn't make the connection to the sensor correctly, I don't think they both broke down at the same time.

My guess is the hall sensor either not calibrated or faulty. Since it happens to both seats I would say they need to be re calibrated.

Problem solved.
The performance seats have no headrest movement. When coding the seats in the car itself, an error occurred when reaching the point of coding the headrests.
At the official Mercedes service center, we coded the car's chassis number, indicating that it now has performance seats.
After this, we coded the performance seats without any problems. Now everything works perfectly.
I hope I've explained myself clearly.
