2019+ rear diff will fit 2017 c63s?

Hello Everyone,
Can someone help me out with the part number for the rear diff for 2017 c63s edition 1 coupe (it's electronic locking diff)? Is it 2133506915 or 2053505607 or 2053504235?
Also, would 2018/2019 rear diff fit 2017 c63s as long as the gear ratio is 2.82? Or would even 3.06 ratio will fit also?

Yes, it does. Do a search. There've been a couple of threads with blown diffs particularly on 2017 model years. There have been revisions to the diff over the years. The early ones are known to fail, so you wanna get the latest revision. Don't know from the top of my head what the part # is. Most people replace it with a used one from a wrecked newer model year as a new one is quite expensive.

Any major difference between 2.82 and 3.06 ratio?

Yes, 2.82 is for the sedan and 3.06 is for the coupe and cab, so get the right one.

Facelift diff will fit a prefacelift without issues and vice versa but you need the right ratio. If yours is a Saloon or Wagon it's the 2,82. Cabrio and Coupe you need 3,06. Internals are the same except facelift diff comes with a temp sensor in the fluid plug which you can still use as the plug but disconnected in a prefacelift.

Nevermind, mixed up the S and non S version. The facelift non S got the same ediff as S.

Base model C63 has mechanical diff and C63 S has the e-diff so yeah op needs to be sure it's a diff from the S model

I figured, and the facelift of both versions had the same e diff? Or the ratio is different?

Thank you so much everyone! For some reason I thought the 2.82 ratio was for pre-facelift due to 7spd transmission and 3.06 ratio was for 9spd instead of sedans vs coupe. Will definitely look for 3.06 ratio now. Any places online you'd recommend besides ebay?

Also, another question, looks like a diff from e63s 17-23 will also work? They look identical with the same gear ratio? Here is an example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/26704709740...UAAOSwAY5nIVkP

Exact same ratios carried over to the facelift models.

Diffs are identical but fact is later made facelift ones will whine less. Prefacelift diffs were known to fail and have bearing issues which cause the very slight whine as well as the actuator problems that cause the dash warnings.

I rebuilt my diff using a low km donor diff off a prefacelift a few years ago but I'm going to source a late facelift diff in future and put my Drexler unit in the facelift diff.

I have some posts I did on social media some time ago

Good information to know thank you. Whine less sounds like a winner.

Any feedback on using e63s diff? Looks like it's the exact same thing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/26704709740...UAAOSwAY5nIVkP

Just currently trying to source a used rear diff at a reasonable price.

Will the 17-23 e63s diff fit our cars? They look exactly the same.

Do the internals of the diff fail or do the clutch packs wear out?

I have noticed at low speeds under 10mph while making tight turns the rear axle is clunky at times. It sounds a lot like the Nismo LSD I have in the Z (if you didnt know what going on you would think the car is broken).

My understanding is that 9 out of 10 times the actuator fails, unless the car is tuned and then other parts can fail. Clunky rear axle is not normal. The older diffs can have a whine. The FL diffs have new friction materials for the clutches and no longer need a fluid change after the break in period and its overall faster and improved, but some of that is in the external controllers that control the diff, specifically the new AMG DYNAMCIS chassis control system.
