Sway bar replacement

I was quoted $1,200 to replace complete front sway bar. They say need to even remove the engine in order to be able to remove the bar…and It would be a 7-8 hours job.
It sounds weird to me…
Any insight on this?
thanks!

I'll be interested to see what other members say about your sway bar/links.

Yep I thought it must be easier than removing the engine

It only happens when I turn the steering wheel and the front wheels are on an uneven surface. For example, when I turn into the garage and the left wheel lifts off before the right when I go over a small curb.
Not sure if I’m explaining myself

You've ruled out it's not a cracked front rim, right?

Nop, definetely sway bar, end links or bushings
Dealer couldn’t reproduce the noise 🤣. Maybe I could push but would like to replace all with my indy
Just need to know what the steps are in order remove the bar
thanks

Definitely no engine dropping though.
I just can't fathom how your car would need a new sway bar at this age. Please only replace it if it's really needed. And take advantage of your factory warranty. Try and get them to replicate the sound or record it on video and show the dealer.

I will double check if replacing the whole bar is really needed and push on warranty
Thanks all for your comments
