Aftermarket air filter
Hello together,

are there any aftermarket air filter which are better than the original ones?

Is there any benefit on the M177 or is it just wasted money?

more airflow than (OEM) paperfilter ?

Use BMC (FB845/20) … AMG use them also.

Whatever you do, do NOT use KN filters. They will allow dirt to pass thru the filter.

I would stay with a genuine MB air filter.

@munich55 Weistec makes a high-flow air filter that is thinner and doesn't obstruct the intake tube like the factory thick ones do:

I use the BMC in my c63 also. Just clean them periodically and they are great

The factory filters are the best filters. Unless you are building a race car, that is.

The MB REQUIRED SERVICE IS that the 2 engine air filters are to be changed every 2 years or 20,000 moles.

I change them every years by an indy. An inspection of these filters were in still in good shape with
