Happy New Year, Bill! Vegas? Solo?!?! Dude, you've got huevos! Which tells me you're doing fine! Would love to hear from you, feel free to call, as well.
I didn't smoke anything on NYE, but I did fire up a La Aurora 107 robusto on NY while taking down lights with the gf. Hope the New Year is off to a good start for everyone!

A shipment of Padron 45yr and 46yr came in plus a cigar I truly enjoyed (Oliva Series V Melanio) a couple months ago I was gifted a robusto...decided to try out all their vitolas...robusto, churchill, and torpedo...Highly recommend this cigar...very box worthy!

Happy New Year to you gentlemen as well!
Jon, the Melanio is one of my new favorites. A superb smoke for the money, very smooth and excellent construction. I agree, very box worthy. I'll be grabbing a box of torpedoes soon. Nice purchase!!

I'm glad I got gifted the Melanio or I would have been missing out...

At this point, I've been only buying cigars I will actually smoke and like...you guys can stop laughing. When I started buying cigars I would buy every brand new cigar by the box that would come out without trying them...literally.

I learned a long time ago that a pretty label doesn't guarantee a good smoke. One of my favorite smokes has a rather humble label (Padron 5000 Maduro). Generally, I'll give anything a whirl that's under $10 a stick. Anything more than that, and I'll definitely scope the reviews first. If it's love at first puff, then I'll order a box.
The Melanio was no exception -- I thought, "This is just a re-banded Serie V with a 90% markup." Boy was I wrong. The first photo below shows a delightful love story.
I've also learned that not all reviews can be trusted. Last week I hit an Arturo Fuente Rosado Gran Reserva... For $6.50 I can't complain too much, but the reviews were certainly generous based on what I experienced. Draw was milkshake-tight, with a bitter taste and a burn that refused to stay even. It may have been a "dud" but that'll be my last AF for a while.

Kreuz...you are so right. All that glitters sometimes is all flash and no content...the Padron 5000 is a great example of a plain jane cigar that is well worth every penny and surpasses much more expensive cigars.
Buy what makes you feel good just sitting back and relaxing with a drink in hand...that could be a $5 Padron thousand or a $100 Padron Millenium. Neither one is something to look down on as being too cheap or too expensive. Each can be appreciated...
I say the same thing about a lot of things...just like my scotch/whiskey/bourbon collection...I LOVE to drink Makers 46 as much as the Glenmorangie Pride. Each can be appreciated...
What makes either one better by a factor of infinity is enjoying them with friends and family...

Golf/cigar roster for this morning..I don't think I can go wrong with any of them...
I smoked the...
My Father El Hijo - a mild cigar that smoked VERRRRY smooth. A great morning or lunch cigar...I really enjoyed it and had a very even burn...I like how they did the end of the cigar.
Liga Privada Feral Pig - what can I say...a top 10 cigar for me...medium to full with great construction. I LOVE this cigar.
Oliva V Melanio Churchill - VERY impressed with this cigar. I've smoked the robusto and that was really good but the Churchill was even better...
All box worthy and saved my round since I played like I had no opposable thumbs...86...but it could be worse.

Late night wine and cigar with a friend....
Some red Chianti Rufino 2008 Wine after dinner last night along with a San Lotano while my friend enjoyed a Acid Blondie(How on earth anyone smokes those is beyond me. I think there just awful).
Ended up enjoying a wondering Padron 5000 Maduro at the lounge today after the gym.

Tonight I had the privilege of smoking the Flor de las Antillas Double Toro. The Toro just won cigar of the year, and when I went in the local smoke shop and saw a box laying there, I had to take a draw.
This puppy did not disappoint. I detected notes of nutmeg, toast, and some vanilla undertones. I had two people walk by and ask what I was smoking simply from the rich smell. Construction was superb, the draw was VERY free (I love that) and the flavors all mellowed together perfectly. I literally didn't want to retire the cigar, smoked it to my knuckles. Without a doubt, box-worthy. Retail was $9.95. I honestly liked it just as much as the Melanio.

Good smokes my friends! I have a box of the Flor de las Antillas some where around here...I got it last year and they've been hanging out in one of the humidors...I might have to smoke one today! I did not know they were rated so high by CA...glad I snatched up a box before there is a mad rush for them.

Great Cigars !
I used to do both Cigs and Cigars.
But now I have stopped smoking and now Vaping! Using Ego T2 with different flavored E- Liquids.
Going healthy and stopped my craving for Cigs! The fun part is ... I can use this anywhere, from inside the office, inside planes, malls. etc.
