Look really awesome...definately bluer than the stock ones, but not ricer blue. I really cannot tell much difference at night either...and my eyesight is not the greatest, so I would have been able to tell. I will post some pics soon.

what is the ultinon's claim to fame? other than more "blue", is there any advantage here?

It is cosmetic only, I do not think there is an advantage or disadvantage to using them.

All of them, as much as I can...
D2S or D2R?

Which one, or does it matter? What's the correct application for the CL? Also prices? I see anywhere from $210 to $285. I also see Xetronic brand for $219, 8000K. Rated 3200 hrs.

My stock bulbs are getting a little tired. The previous owner had it set to "on all the time".

if you want to call it a disadvantage, the higher kelvin rating you go the less light output on the road.

living in a city or some place that has street lights, you wouldnt really notice the difference but if you put 4300k, 6000k and 8000k all next to each other and saw the actual light output and how it illuminates the road, the 4300k is best hence why that is the stock xenon bulb.

i prefer the 6000k because of the looks and dont mind giving up a little less light output, besides in nyc you can drive around with no headlights and still see ok with all the building lights and street lights.

heres a chart showing the different bulbs:
