Next Gen Mercedes CL Coupe and AMG

Here are the latest photos of the next generation Mercedes CL-Class coupe. They are showing a prototype without any disguise, just a few strips of tape were removed by computer.
As can be seen, its styling this time will be much sleeker and more elegant - boot lid and rear end reminding somewhat of the Maybach - complete with a refined luxurious interior, technical equipment and visibly flared fenders.
Engines will be available in a range from a V6 3.7 litre to the V12 4.0 litre fuel units, and possibly also for the coupe a V6 3.2 litre diesel and a V8 4.0 litre diesel. The top of the line model is going to be the AMG version powered by a 6.3 litre V12 delivering over 600 HP. The photos are showing two more latest pictures of the AMG version in cold weather testing.

I know it's unfair to judge this obvious prototype, but from what we see, it looks harshly generic and uninspiring compared to our current model. In fact, the new S-class looks tons better. Just my 2 cents.

Definately doesnt look like a car with a $90,000 price tag
Time for me to look for an alternative

Just what we needed - it looks like a (slightly) bigger CLK. And the base engine is a V-6? In the "flagship" model? Maybe this is Mercedes' answer to the Toyota Solara (as if that were a worthy question)? Geez. Saying this car looks generic is waaayyyyy too polite; at the very least it blows - poodles. Maybe the bright side is that this thing will cause the current CL's to actually begin appreciating in price, like classic muscle cars or something. Ah well, all good things must come to an end . . . and this thing is certainly proof of that.

Ugly...
BTW - THIS is NEW GENERATION CL, not only redesigned.
Current SL is more like redesigned, but is not the New Generation SL.
Why are You confusing these terms?

How You can say we can't judge?
The general look of the new CL is now obvious. Some minor details may be different but this is not artistic vision, actaully not a photoshop.

That pic is awful, no way the car will be the lopsided and disjointed. By removing the tape he still had to fill in what he thinks the car will look like. In short that still isn't the true car. Yes the shape is pretty obvious, but the devil is in the details which aren't represented here. No way the car will be this ugly and disjointed. The CL will be shown in May when MB opens a new heritage museum.

The current CLs style is amazing. I've always been a fan, and I don't think a new design will EVER compare to what is currently in stock. That is... until a nicer design comes out. lol.

Yeah I'm thinking the same thing. It will be hard to match the current car which was for me the best looking Mercedes since the old W124 E-Class Coupe, only the new SL and especially CLS look as good or better respectively. It the current CL's side profile, roofline and proportions that Brunno really nailed to make such a handsome, timeless car.
The new CL will be shown in May at the opening of the new Mercedes museum in Germany.

The pictures of the new CL are VERY bad, but we still can't judge them. I thought the new S class was very ugly when I first saw the spy shots posted below, but we now know that it is a pretty nice car. Wait until it comes out then talk smack about it
