Question for 03' and up CL/SL/S600 owners

I've recently bought the 03' CL600 and I have a question concerning the car. It seems very unwilling to downshift to the next lowest gear below 35mph. If you punch the gas, it seems to stay in gear and slowly build boost and speed...getting more responsive as it builds revs. This occurs in both modes on the tranny. I am depressing the downshift button below the accelerator pedal as well. At higher speeds, it will slam you back in the seat and downshift normally and take off like a raped ape.

Are these cars just programmed conservatively or I'm wondering if mine needs an ECU update or something. This happens with traction control on and off. My S55 had no problem with this.

The tranny and engine are running very smoothly with no malfunctions. My buddy who drove the car noticed the same thing right away.

If this is normal behavior for the V-12TT, I guess I better save for some Renntech mods!

Yeah...I tried it and it did make a world of difference. Probably too much highway driving and the tranny went into granny mode!
