What does this error message mean? L, Turn Signal Reflector, check bulb

I keep getting this warning but my bulb is fine. I am wondering if maybe it is a little loose. Problem is....what bulb is this for? I accidentally was given 2002 CL manuals for my 2000....and there is no mention of this error message in there. In other words, can anyone with a 2000 or 2001 look in their manual and see?

I figured it was the rear turn signal bulb....but when I pulled that out...the error message "left turn signal" came on. I'm really not sure beyond that.

i got something like that when i was changing those reflector things out to the painted ones, i removed the bulbs because light would shine through the painted ones still and that message popped up...one of the bulbs was out and no message came up so i guess if you removed it it will come up...just get new bulbs maybe.

So the reflectors are actually the orange sidemarkers?

Yup, he's right.

mjr24:

Yes, blahzayblah is right; the "reflectors" are the "orange side markers."

i'm a tad late as usual but i was confused about the same issue just recently. come to find out this is a turn signal. it's on the exterior mirrors and they go bad due to the constant bending and flexing of the wiring when the mirrors are folded into the body or out away from it to keep people from tearing them off when you are parked and they get too close. there's a lot of help fixing the problem on this forum.

I get that message when my trunk isn’t closed properly. I just bought this car and it seems the “soft close” doors and trunk are very sensitive, especially the trunk. The way I solved mine problem was, when closing the trunk, I depress the close button, and slowly close the trunk lid by hand until it hits the latch. I then let go of the trunk and let the locking mechanism do it’s thing. No more message.
