Proud New Owner of a 02 CL500

Hello my fella Mercedes members. As you may or may not know I recently blew my NSX motor and sold the vehicle for 16,500. Man I miss my baby. Well I got back in the market for 5 days. My choices were a MBCL/GS430/745LI. All three vehicles were a blast to drive. But for some reason after I sat in the MB CL my mind was made up. I purchase a CL500 on last Thursday; the dealer had a CL55 & CL600 on the lot for almost the same price but with more miles. Plus I wanted java interior so the black interior in the CL55 & CL600 wasn’t an option. Man that CL55 was a blast to test drive. I have a few questions.

Does anyone know any good shops in the DC Metro area that can perform minor service on my car?
Does anyone know any good radio shops that can install SAT or XM?
Any thing I need to pay special attention to as far as own this car?
I'm little disappointment in the radio. What's the best setting to hear some bass in the radio?

If I miss anything or if you have any pointer that can assist me with own this car please post.

I'm having a little problem posting pics. So if someone post their e-mail address I'll e-mail them the pics.

welcome, you can try Fairfax Service Center across BMW of Fairfax. I used to take my CLK there for service. Honest and very reliable service. Ask for Reese Sherbaf. He's the owner. They only service German high end autos.

Curious to know, where did you buy your CL 500. I recently bought mine at American Service Center in Arlington but traded in for a new Infiniti simply b/c there were too many issues. Hopefully you wont encounter them, but if you do, I really hope you bought a PreCertified Owned w/ warranty, else, it will be veeeeeeeeeery expensive to maintain. congrats on the new ride..

I would suggest getting extended warranty. Your 4 years are up more than likely. So unless its CPO. Go get the extended. It will save you $$$$$$.
Mine was about $ 2800 for coverage to 75K miles and 5 more years.
It paid for itself when my ABC pump went. And I think I am ahead now
and still have 20K Miles and 2.5 Years to go. CL is not cheap to maintain.
Figure every 20K miles. Brakes and tires. Rotors at least by 30K. She is a heavy beast. Great ride, congratulations. I have had my 2000 for 2 years
now and it has been very dependable overall. Enjoy !!!!!!!!!

Yes I purchase my CL500 from Amercian Service Center in Arlington, VA. The car is CPO 100K. I would never purchase a German car without a warranty. Can you e-mail me the shop phone number at rogers_robert@bah.com.

Thanks

I blew the engine downshifting from 4th to 2nd what a huge mistake. Man I miss that car but the CL is on another level luxury wise but the fun factor goes to my NSX.

The CL wont let you make that mistake. Its too smart.

How does it feel to have all that extra room in the CL ?
I got in a NSX once. Tight little car. Yes but fun.
If you like your new MB. Next trade is up to SL. That will satisfy
the fun factor desire.
