2004 Maintenance

What services are covered by the 2004 full maintenance program. Is it like BMW where wear items (e.g., brakes) are covered or is it just oil changes?

I had my '02 "b" service done and, in addition to changing the oil and filter, they flushed the brake fluid and coolant, replaced the wipers, and supposedly took a look around for potential problems. Call your dealer and they'll advise you.

The car is at the dealer. This is not a B service, just brakes. When my brakes were replaced the first time becuase they were worn, the delaer replaced them for free and now they're charging. I was under the impression that for 2004 and earlier, wear an tear items are covered. Am I mistaken?

Ask for a copy of the agreement from the dealer if you don't have it in your paperwork. Out of curiousity, how many miles are you getting out of your pads? I have over 26K on my original front pads.

This is the second time the pads were changed. The pads were first replaced around 23k miles. Car now has just under 41k miles.

Where is most of your driving done, city or highway. I've got about 26K on my '02 CL and the pads have never been changed. By far most of my driving is highway but I'd better check them to be sure. Just thinking more about this, though, I bought the car thru a dealer and it was Starmarked. I understand that when a car is Starmarked, they generally replace the pads. Well see. Have you replaced the rear pads yet?

Most of the my driving is easy freeway miles (i.e., not a lot of stop and go traffic). Car has had an easy life of plodding around San Diego.

CL500 Brakes

I drive mine 50% Freeway and 50% City.
Replaced at 25K and again at 50K.

From other CL drivers I have talked to.
Thats about normal. Remember how much this car weighs.
Its a tank. Its going to burn through pads and tires at about the same
rate.

Pad`s and Labor all the way around should run about $ 370.00 Dealer.

Please guys, before going into the dealer for any maintanence, its good to call the service advisor and give your VIN number to him/her. Ask him/her if you have a service/maintanence contract. He/she will inform you over the phone. I can help you guys check too. (VIN required.)
