CL600 vs E55

Hi guys. I was pretty sure I wanted to buy an E55 AMG, however, after hearing many horror stories of the ecu "update" that robs power I'm starting to consider a CL600 and have a few questions.

1. Since I only have 60k, this limits me to an 03 CL600 or maybe a high mileage 04. How reliable are these cars, and should I be worried if the mileage is high (35k+)? What are some of the problems and how costly are they to repair if the car is out of warranty?

2. If I were to chip my Cl600 with renntech, will the reliability be greatly reduced?

3. How does CL600 compare in terms of acceleration and handling to E55? I would imagine that CL600 would outaccelerate an E55 from a highway roll, is this correct? What about in the twisties, is it responsive and agile? If you've driven both cars, please share your experience.

No, the car is not too old for the upgrades. However, you do need to make sure if the car had the proper maintainence. (service a.....etc)

The CL is a much nicer car to drive. More comfort, more luxury. There is no comparison between the two for a car that's driven everyday. I would not own a CL out of warranty. You've been warned. Quirky electronics will kill your wallet after the warranty expires.
