CL 600 Bi-Turbo
E55 V CL600 Bi-Turbo

Please compare the both vehicles.
I have a CL600 which I absolutely love to death, but it is depreciating at an alarming rate.
2 year old now £105k new, £51k now !!!!!!!
I have been offered an exchange deal for a fully loaded E55AMG.

How does the E55 compare to the CL 600 would I be dissapointed ?
And how will the E55 depreciation compare against the CL ???

E55AMG 10 months newer than CL.

I had a 2002 (non-turbo) that I traded for an E55 after the CL's paint was destroyed by keying that required most of the car to be repainted. While i love the E55's power I would trade for a turbo CL in an instant,

Youu've already taken the biggest hit for the CL - keep it.

No contest

There is no contest between the twin turbo twelve and the supercharged V8, the V12 wins hands down. Also, the quality levels of the CL versus the E Class are much higher. I have owned both cars and would keep the CL unless you have to have four doors in which case, I would get the S600.

AMG cars are nice, but if I could have afforded the extra cash, I am more than positive I would have a V12 biturbo car right now. As awesome as the E55 AMG is, the CL600 carries just that much more prestige.

Hard to compare the two cars... I've always felt the super charged AMG 55's were the sporty, spry, younger to the 600's refined, muscular, older. That said, it seems to me you'd be stepping BACKWARDS on this trade. The beauty of the E55 in my opinion (performance aside) is it's versatility. Family hauler/super sedan. IMHO the CL is a head turner, all about the driver type of sled... but either way you really can't go wrong!

Def. the Cl though the first thing I would do is change the ugly wheels the bi-turbo comes with.. maybe an AMG or subtle aerodynamic kit would make it look better.

Okay, ANY type of Merc or BMW that is a V12 will lose its value faster than anything! THis is coming from a wholeseller, V12 always are 5-10 below wholesale book. WHY you might ask? Because they are a V12 and no one wants to deal with a used v12 and the problems they come with. If you want a car that holds its value, buy a Toyota. NEVER BUY NEW, go with the E55, you wont lose as much as you are losing right now.

It's true about the v12. My salesperson even warned me about it before I bought the car. Usually I keep a car for a long period of time but this was an exception.

I think the problem is that a two year old CL600 should be worth $100K. BUT, someone with $100K to spend on a car probably doesn't mind the extra 20-30K to go ahead and get a new one. So you must discount the car to "bargain" territory to attract a buyer. Hence the low price....
