CL600 Traction problem !!!!

I purchased my '04 CL about two weeks ago and I just received the car within the past few days. I love it, but I'm having problems getting traction under 30mph. I checked the tires and the tread is very good (Nitto tires). All 4 tires are at 33psi.

Is this normal for this car? Should I change my tires to the Michellins? Or is there something that I'm doing wrong?

The main concern is that I'm in the process of getting the Renntech ECU upgrade and I'm a little worried that the car will be undriveable at low speeds due to tire spinning and no traction. If I'm having problems now, then how will the car be with over 100 more HP and TQ after the upgrade?

Thank you for advice

haha Andrew...as you noticed...There is a very small community of W215 CL class forum members that are very active....glad to see you as one of the "active" ones...

well...about your tires spinning...im sorry to hear that..just kidding....that means your car has POWER...you'd rather have spinning tires than non spinning tires...

Are you using sport tires? they def help.
If you are really worried about spinning tires, get wider tires and rims for the rear...

thats the most I can think of for now..

with all high powered cars, you really just gotta ease the gas a little when accelerating or spinning tires will get you no-where....go to a dragstrip and experiment with your launches (minimize tire spinning while maximizing traction by adjusting the gas accordingly)

If they are the NT555's, those are not known for great traction. Try the Michelin PS2's. I'm running 295 Continental's Conti-sport 2's iand they hook pretty good. I'm not a real big fan of Continental's but they work well on the CL600. However, they will be replaced by Michelin PS2's or BFGoodrich T/A KDW-2.

I think maybe I'll try the PS2s. I have 18s on the car now, but maybe I'll try 19s. I think i'll also try a different tire pressure; maybe 25 psi instead of 33.

CL600 Traction problem !!!!

I too have a cl600 and have an ample amount of spin from those twin turbos,

I think I am going to try some street slicks like these BFGoodrich (see link) next summer.

I second that, I've got PS2's and they've been first rate.

I'm running an ET 38 with 5 mm spacers. The fenders have also been rolled slighlty.
