Anyone know what the W215's body is made of?

I was leaning on the front fender and realized that it was not metal. This made me curious as to what the rest of the car is made of. I took a refrigerator magnet and went around the whole car. To my own surprise, it didnt "stick" anywhere. I was not aware that the car was made of aluminum, and for sure its not Carbon. Anyone?

no more stogies in the car for me! I seen magnesium burn in chem class and that thing burns bright white.

Maybe i will set the car on fire once i win the lottery. use it as a beacon to let everyone know where the party's at.

I have data from a dealer brochure for my 2003 CL55 AMG and here is what it says:
Front Hood: Aluminum Sheet Metal
Front Fenders: Polymide blend of materials-unreinforced thermoplastic to reduce damage from minor impacts
Trunk Lid: Two fiberglass reinforced duroplastic shells bonded together
Gas Tank Lid: Same material as front fenders, thermoplastic
Rear Fenders: Aluminum
Doors: Inner shell magnesium, outer shell is aluminum sheet metal
Roof: Steel

I took the car in for an estimate because of a small dent in the hood, once I told them about the car being made of aluminum they JACKED the price of the repair to $1400.00!!!
When we did the tour of Fletcher Jones Import Center during the MBUSA 50th Anniversary Convention I asked the service manager about body repair of the CL cars. They told me the closest place to have repair work done was in Phoenix, AZ. Now I also have to add transportation to the repair cost. There are very few places across the country that can do repair work on these cars.
