2001 CL 500 - Please help with pricing
I have a 2001 CL500 for sale and I am finding they are priced all over the place. The are in the mid to high $30K at an authorized MB dealer, and high $20k at a used car dealership (most with a lot more miles than mine). KBB is way off on the value thru their website. I have been trying to sell mine for the past 4 months and no serious call. The car is listed in the autotrader and is the lowest priced 2001 CL500 in the magazine. Please help me price the car so I can get a few more calls. I understand these cars are not bringing in the money compared to the price when they were new.

I have it priced at $32,995.

i think it;s very decent price... if anything , if anyone seriously interested they would go down to 30k but still Ok
friend of mine selling his 2001 CL500 sport, black/black 20" lowenhart wheels, w/ 87k miles, I believe he's asking $29k for the 2 months and no bite, and he just drop to $27.5k
man... that's insult or what... on a car well over 100k when new.

Well, I dont own a CL but Im looking to purchase one. I have done tons and tons of research on this car over the last 2 weeks and one thing I can tell you is that it depreciates like hell and its not a very easy car to find. Especially in Black. And when you do find it, the miles are either to high or they are asking to much for it. Or in my case, the car is on the other side of the country. Its a beautiful car but not popular. I think more because of the maintenance alone and the fact that you really cant drive it everyday. I think its more of a weekend car. (Atleast thats what im going to do with mine when I find one)
But your asking price is actually good. I think you can get 30k for it. Here in Maryland the average price is $28k with about 75,000 miles. Once the miles drop down to the 55-65k range, the price jumps up to about $32-34k. Be patient with this car. You will eventually sell. Remember, its not a camry or accord. Good luck!!!
