warranty more expensive?

Ive been doing some research online regarding warranty. I researched warrantydirect, carchex and a few others. The carchex company said they will tell me Monday if the ABC system is covered (no mechanic present at the time) 4 years/48k $2600

They pay up to $111 per hour for labor (MB in Maryland is $115), they pay for diagnostics, and pretty much all the crap you read on other websites is covered like engine, steering, blah blah blah. And I can take the car anywhere.

Warranty Direct is almost $4000 for 2 years/25k! A bit to much. So whats the difference?

Mercedes Dealer around my area said they accept all warranties, its the warranty provider I should worry about. The maximum they pay for per hour labor, maximum they will pay for per year, can I take the car anywhere etc etc etc..

what do you guys think? Since Ive read nothing but bad stuff about the ABC, I want to make sure thats covered!

I have an extended warranty through Easy Care. The part in question doesn't come under the heading of "Wear & Tear items" Your extended warranty company should cover if you have the upgraded total care package

I had an extended 3rd party warranty. they were great until they went BK. Be carefull.

You might want to deal with an insurance company like Mercury Insurance who I have a good experience with in terms of extended warranty.

The difference in the cost of the car warranties is usually the amount of time covered, mileage and how much of the cars internal and external parts are covered. Try to find out how much of the car is covered; what the deductible is and how many dealerships use the warranty company. I would guess there aren't many car good dealerships out there that use questionable warranty companies. Sometimes you can judge a dealership by its external parts.
