Officially, MB sold 46,800 W215 Coupés between 1999 and 2006. Unofficially, 90% of this production have been CL500 and AMG models (at least in Europe). So it means roughly 4,700 CL600 sold throughout the world over that period of time. Not so far from your estimate (600 a year x 7 years).
Time warp ahead of more than four years and I wonder what happened to this elite group? I still have my '05 and love it as much as ever (Except when the coil packs regularly fail no matter what I do...). Odd thing also, it seems that people cannot find the same satisfaction I find in owning and operating one. I read some of these logs and wonder "why do you own this car; it is clearly not for you...get an Avalon."
I'm probably the odd duck because I don't see them running around any more like I used to even if people ask me if it is new. I guess those that know did get an Avalon.
I'll check in in four more years to see what happened to us.

8 years late and still no update. I had mine parked in my drive way before i made room for it in the garage. I had a guy stop and ask if it was for sale so some still like them. I would think Mercedes would have kept records of what cars went where. According to Wikipedia, (the NA V12-powered CL 600 (2000-2002), the limited production (about 200 per year worldwide) Wow they are rarer than i thought! That would explain the post count/activity.
Hi All, wishing everyone a great prosperous year ahead. I live in Dubai and I have owned an earlier CL600 W215 and sold in 2021 for around 9k USD (black with lorinser kit in very good condition and 90k km). I then missed the car and bought another CL600 with low milage (74k km) 8 months ago that needed some repairs (coils, sparks, etc..); However I am noticing a spike in Prices recently for the CL600 with some advertising for25k+ and 30k+ USD for low milage examples.
Are the V12s prices getting hot now as I also see a spike in AMG Cl55 and SL55 prices but the CL600 surprised me.

I've got a 2003 CL600 with 72000 km all stock. It's for sale for about $25000 cdn. $18500 us. Not too many people here appreciate the CL. Hard to sell when there is snow half the year. kevinbellmoredotcom to see the pictures.

I have owed and driven and PAID to keep my Cl600 on the road. I have a full Carlsson Package ,lower module, ecu module, exhaust badging update fog lights and updated side mirrors,Foose wheels, looks amazing.
The cost that is unavoidable will be for the ABC Tandum pump 4k job And also the ABC struts 4 of them 1500 each with labor . The oil intercooler around part 600 labor 10k 75-90k miles Very expensive as this is under the V12 heads. Coil packs 2 sets 1500 each. fuel pump and filter at around 130kmiles. I have had all of these repairs done to keep this CL road worthy. Around 25K .I have 129k on mine looks amazing .The reason for the rarity is most people can’t afford to justify the cost to keep them road worthy. Many mechanics still today get flustered by trying to fix even simply things like what is causing a dead battery issue? These cars have many modules and some don’t go to sleep so they become a canabilstic draw on the battery. Many need trickle chargers hooked up . Very few Cl600 have been registered thru the DMV so these cars are getting rarer and rarer.
I recently saw somebody who dove into the database of WIS and figured out that Mercedes made around 40 CL63 V12 AMGs instead of the 25 they said they would.
Makes me wonder if we could have a tool that could extract data, like how many CL600's where build and painted in almandine schwarz (182U)
Can you ever remember seeing another one anywhere? I seen a newer one in a home depot parking lot but that's it. A guy stopped at my house to see if i wanted to sell mine, I don't think he even noticed it was a CL600.

I've seen a few in the wild, one being a CL600 that screamed past us whilst merging the highway and me shouting I want that car to my girlfriend.
A few months later, that exact car was mine, which I did not know at the time of purchase. This story was only told me when going for an MOT at a local garage.
For the rare cars, the CL is pretty well seen here I guess

I reacquired my 2003 CL600 after 12 years of not owning the car and wanted to insure it in BC for Collector Plates. As the car is less than 25 years old, the rules for Collector plates required proof of less than 2,000 of the model and year. Here's the official letter I received from Mercedes.
