wheel question
Hello, I have a question and need help. My friend has a '04 C230 and has 19x8.5 & 19x9.5 rims on them. He also uses 5mm spacers. He doesn't know the offset on them. I am wondering if there is a way to know if they will fit my '03 CL500 without knowing the offset. Any help would be very appreciated.

I assume you have checked the inside of the wheel for the stamped offset. I think most wheels have it on the inside along with bolt pattern and width. I have an 03 CL500 and had stock AMG 18's that were 44ET front and rear. I put 20's on and they were 8 inch and 10 inch. The offset for the fronts is 35ET and the rear is 42ET. I don't know if this helps you or even answers your question but hopefully it gives you a few more numbers to help guide you. The widths you have stated will easily fit the car but again, offset is the key. Do you know the brand? Lorinser has a 38ET and you can adjust with spacers.

I think the fronts will definitely fit without spacers...35ET works on mine but the backs I'm not certain. I think with 5mm spacers they should be okay. If you have the wheels and can test mount them go ahead. I can't tell you how frustarting it can get trying to get the right size wheel for your car. It has to sit just perfectly in the wheel well. Don't take a chance, test fit. And just FYI...I went with replicas and ended up getting rid of them after 4 months. These are such high quality cars that they deserve high quality wheels. If it's a cost issue, wait until you can get the good ones. You won't be sorry. And check the threads...there are TONS of original wheels by Lorinser, Brabus, AMG for sale. Most people will work with you if you are really interested.

No they wont! I tried to put the same wheels on my car from a C class and the hub size was too small!!!! When we got the wheel bolted up to the car... I was still able to wiggle it back and forth quite a bit....

Are you sure the lug bolts weren't too long? I had a similar problem with wheels but it was that there was too much length in the bolts.
