Shanusanus-WIS DVD's
Hi Shanusanus, I've had the WIS DVD's installed for a while now and just this morning upon opening the file, I found the language had changed. Any idea how I can get back to English?? I can find nothing anywhere to change it.

I think its the 3rd menu box ADMIN - once in there you have various box icons at teh top - in one of those it will allow you to change language (GERMAN SPRECHEN)
I'm abit vague as I;m not in front of the WIS PC but please have a look under ADMIN area (you should see INFOBOX then ASRA then ADMIN on main front screen after booting up WIS)
Hope this sorta helps.

ASRA comes up when I open the program along with Infothek and Systemverwaltung, but it will allow only entry into Systemverwaltung.

OK well its definately under that SYSTEMVAR*** whatever - the language selection is under there somewhere - youll have to play but its hidden in that area because thats the Admin settings.

There is no way I can see to access the file. If you have no other ideas, I guess I'll have to uninstall/reinstall. I must have hit something that put me into this new language and will not allow access to anything.

It turns out not to be a language change but a notice upon opening WIS that entry not possible, contact system administrator. (This notice is in German and my German ain't too good but that is basically what it says). Any help would be appreciated.

Re you sure your licence hasnt expired for WIS? Usually you install with an unlimited licence but you can specify a date - which may have now expired?!?!
In any case - the only thing I would do is reinstall - problem is I dont think you can uninstall\reinstall - you have to wipe your hard drive - format it - reinstall operating system (win 2000) and then install WIS - its crasy I know but I learnt from experiance

I don't recall seeing anything regarding a license expiration date when I installed it. I've sent an email to the seller just yesterday PM and haven't heard from him as yet. There is no way I'm going to start from scratch with my operating system and hard drive. Is there a way to change or check the license expiration date?

Sorry I just dont knwo any way of fixing it - sorry.
I do know that removing the installation and then reinstalling didnt work for me - I lost hours (12 or so) trying to get it to work - in the end I wiped the H\D and O\S - reinstalled and then reinstalled WIS - that took me another 6 hours Damn thing.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll wait to see if the seller gets back to me with instructions. If he doesn't respond after a couple of emails, I'll take some other action. Again, I don't know if license expiration is the problem but I think you are right in that it is. Thanks again and hope you get your new wheels/cruise control straightened out. Yeah the whole wheel lark is just baffling - this morning I took the 5mm spacers of and what ya know - I dont have any rubbing noise now! So im back to the situ where just the cruise control wont set. Ive ordered 2 new rear tyres in 255 40 R19 which should bring me within 1" circumference of the front 245 40 R19. Im hoping that the cruise control issue gets resolved with that and then there should defo be no rubbing with thinner tyres.
Hey - you have a great new year

If you like the wheels, and don't use cruise much, maybe you just leave 'em on. Happy New Year to you too!

Guys,
Did you try deleting the WIS software entries in the windows registry after the uninstall? There's the potential to break things, but if you're willing rebuild your PC anyway, why not give it a try? Its worked for me in the past plenty of times with other software.

Hey Jud, thanks for the email buddy. I haven't received my disks, but the seller already provided me with an installation procedure. The 2007 version is probably a little different than yours, but I didn't see any fields with an expiration date.

Jud,
Your problem does look like it's license related. My guess is the default license key you used activate the program may have been a demo license key or something of that nature. I believe the keys are generated by using a "hash" from your PC MAC address. This way, the license key will only work on your PC.
