Hydrolic Pump

I ran over a bucket filled with white paint on the freeway. So when I was taking the paint off my bumper I noticed that the ruber cover that goes around the hydrolic pump is coming off from the top. I tried to stick it back in but couldn't. So my question is: does this need to be taken in to be repaired or can I keep driving the car without endangering the shocks and the hydrolic pump?

Thanks

Here is an idea. Sell the CL and invest in a CLK.
